• Halo is a good way for me to stay in contact with my army buddies still enlisted. I didnt meet my girlfriend playing Halo but her little brother also plays which gives us common ground. I dont need Halo to take a small country but maybe a few thousand gamers with great hand eye coordination to help me along.

 • I went to a gamestop interview, ready to be declined like the rest. I walked in, sat down, and the normal questions where asked... I gave the normal answers... This was the same as always. The guy stopped the normal question routine and asked me what my hobbies are. I answered his question with a few of my favorite pastimes, one of which is playing Halo3. We then got into a conversation, auguring over who is better and what awesome things has happened to each of us. I left there with his gamertag. Later that night we played a few games together. He was much better then me, but that didn't bother either of us. Next day, I got a call from him asking for a second interview, where he offered me a job. I truly believe Halo3 is the reason I got this job.

 • I hear you about the gf not playing halo.... my gf hates it when i play, and i have been playing non-stop since i got the xbox 360 about 3 weeks ago or so. oh well, i have fun, it actually made me quit smoking! for real, I was tired of asking people to wait in between matches so I could go and smoke, so I just quit. So for all those who say video games are unhealthy, I'm living proof that it is actually healthy. So thanks Bungie for finally helping me kick the nasty habit of smoking! My family thanks you too, especially my 7 year old son, and yes, he plays Halo 3 with me too :)

 • So I see all these guys on here leaving posts about the girls they have met and very few girls, well I have to say I am girl and my day isn't complete without a couple of rounds of Halo 3 with my fiance. (very soon to be husband) We didn't meet on Halo but it has definitely helped to keep us sane and helped save our relationship many times. I was never a game buff and honestly I sucked at first person shooter games. I remember being on the phone with my fiance while he waited in line at midnight to get Halo 2. He played it so much I had to find out what the big deal was. I was a little scared at first, but after much encouragement from him and lots of practice I actually got really good. We went back and played Halo the original on Campaign and finished that, it was great. I was hooked!!! Now that Halo 3 has come out (I was more excited about it than he was!!!) we play every day. It is the best thing in the world!!!!!!!!!!! There are times we get into arguments or get frustrated over something and we just go kill some aliens or do some multiplayer and it is the best stress relief out there. I honestly don't know what my day would be like without us being able to play Halo!!! Now we have made some great friends that we play with practically every night, it is such a great community, you meet some awesome people. We have so much fun... I love John so much and Halo has made us grow closer as we kick other peoples butts... We are getting married in June Thank you Bungie for making such a kick ass game!!!

 • you hit the nail on the head
Posted by: eerhtxisenin I actually had an epiphany within my first 15 minutes of playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live. I realized that any person under the age of 16 with access to the internet is a closed-minded, over-aggressive, vacuous imbecile that will try to convince me of their own superiority in terms of video gaming skill or life experience (or my lack thereof) when given the opportunity to communicate with total strangers while concealing their own person identity. I was also informed by a young man from England that I should be fully respectful of him because he invented the language that I speak.
• I didn't meet the love of my life through Halo, almost, but not quite. I did however meet a couple that played Halo 1 online through the good ole XBC. They lived in Arizona and I was suppossed to move out there for college and they had actually invited me to stay at their place. It was all planned out, just waiting for the months to tick by... but unfortunately they went through some rough times and the guy ended up committing suicide, so I never ended up meeting them. This was about 4-5 years ago... the ladies name was Wendy, a school teacher. Ahhh the good days of Halo 1, 1v1 Sniper Wars on Prisoner with mason jars of white russians. Such a drag that it's all gone now. And to sit here and think about the first time my friend introduced me to Halo 1. I took a look at the cover and I told him I thought it looked retarded, hah. I became addicted, got my own X-Box, found XBC, and started playing online for around 15-18 hours a day. I couldn't get enough. If anyone is interested in some Halo 1 on XBC anytime hit me up... I need a break from Halo 3. [Edited on 01.07.2008 11:23 AM PST]

 • Well, I didn't exactly meet the love of my life through Halo, BUT when Halo 3 came out she happily waited in line with me till the midnight release, and when I got the first Legendary Edition at that store, the manager yelled out "First Legendary!" and the whole line cheered, and she gave me a kiss. She even watched me play through the whole campaign. After that, she became kind of interested in playing, but I expressed if we were to play Halo we'd start from the beginning. Now she's getting good at Halo: CE, and before long we'll move to Halo 2, and then 3, and then she'll be kicking my butt in no time. If that's not love, friends, I don't know what is. Just thought I'd share.

 • In 2003, I was 14 years old, and had just begun attending a governor's s school in a different county, away from all of my friends. The commute would have me away for almost the whole day not leaving much time for a social life. I was a pretty depressed kid, since I had been with the same group of friends for my whole life, and wasn't very good at making new ones. The first semester sucked: my grades were terrible, I was miserable, etc. In any case, during the second semester, I joined a rowing team. On our rowing trips, we ALWAYS brought Xbox and Halo. At the hotels, you could tell which rooms were ours because of the LAN cables running room to room. My first memories of Halo were of standing around in the open snow fields of Sidewinder trying to get a feel for the controls, catching sniper rounds with my face, much to my boat-mate's delight. Every trip, our time was divided by food, rowing, sleeping, and Halo. It was Awesome. Before I knew some of their names, I knew their tags. I may be sitting next to Will, but I knew him as Terminator, and he was the sniper. I was hooked. That fall, I got my own Xbox, and Halo 2 arrived. Within days, we were all on Live. Now, we didn't have to wait for crew trips to play. I would get up, go to school, go to rowing practice, and come home and play Halo with my boat-mates, and crash around midnight. We played as the TJ Crew Clan, and after that, the DCEPTICONS. Even our coach played on Live with us. Hell, my gamertag is "The Three Seat", which was my position in the boat. When we were sophomores, we initiated the freshman in a 16 person LAN game of Multi-flag on Sidewinder, just the way I had learned. To this day I play Halo with those guys, and every so often that game will come up in conversation. Halo bound our team together. When we argued, when we played pranks on one another, when the rowing was ugly, we would get on an Xbox, and spend a couple hours fragging the crap out of each other, and then all was well. I made the best friends I could ever have over boats and bullets. About 5 years later, we are all off at our colleges. As a crew, we were exceptional. Our senior year we won states, the Stotesbury Cup, and the Scholastic Rowing Association Nationals. We went to England to race in the Henley Royal Regatta (which is as close as you get to worlds in scholastic rowing), and finally lost on the third day of racing, putting us in the top 8 crews in the world . Henley was the first regatta we lost, and coincidentally, the first one we didn't bring Halo on (due to electrical complications, not enough converters, etc.) I'm not saying there's a connection, but one could get that idea. That was 6 months ago. Now, my boat and I are scattered. I've only seen them a couple times since college started, so while I'm always in touch with some of them on Xbox, I don't get to talk to them all the time. They all went off to row at D1 schools. I ended up quitting, because the team at my college couldn't replace the bond I had with my boys. I went to college close to our high school, and now I drive there a couple times a week after classes to coach the freshmen rowers. On the first day of winter training, I asked them: "So, any of you guys play Halo?". One or two of them raised their hands, but most of them just looked at me, kind of confused, and shook their heads. "Well, you will." Thanks Bungie Sincerely, Big Tom

 • PKF_647 / PKF_646 Me and my GF only play together. Whenever we play multiplayer we play together, we make a great team. We don't get to play as much as we would like, but thats life. We have identical ranks and other stats are almost exactly the same. We both started with Halo 1 playing against each other but teamed up as soon as Halo 2 came out. Things didn't change once halo 3 came out. I can admit that she IS the better halo player, but we normally rank the same. We are both halo fanatics and have loads of memorabilia to prove it. Our combined collections are quite nice. But I don't think either of us will be up for a halo themed wedding :P

 • I've become acclaimed as one of the two best Halo players in the two neighborhoods (I live in one of them) that connect to form our area. Only down side is that my girlfriend doesn't like this because people OFTEN bug me about Halo and playing it. [Edited on 01.07.2008 6:20 AM PST]

 • http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStatsHalo2.aspx?gameid=574325978&player=WorthlesWarrior WhatsErName91 is her gamertag. And I had no idea that we'd end up together like we are today. As you can see, we were a bit erred by the obvious standby-er. So we decided to party up and -blam!- about how -blam!- it was. And it all went downhill from there. We ended up exchanging Myspaces, talking and helping each other out with problems. She was there when my then girlfriend broke up with me, and helped me get over her, and I helped her out with her personal problems. The only cloud in this story is that I live in Michigan and she lives in Connecticut. Uggghhhh... But that's alright with me. I've been to her house and met her family, who are a great group of people and i'm glad I have been able to met them. She'll be coming out here in a few weeks, and it'll be awesome. I don't care if people think that finding a boyfriend/girlfriend on Halo is stupid, but I'm proof that there is a chance, no matter how slim. You just have to be courteous, and turn down the jackass factor a bit. Try talking to a female in the RL, it'll help you out a lot, to all those who don't even know what a female looks like besides your mom. :D

 • I met a lot of friends on Halo 2, and I still talk to a lot of them on msn. I met a guy on there with an online gf, and he started asking for my help with it, and I met her older sister online and we started going out, met several times and she's the best thing that ever happened to me. I know a few other guys who met there gf's through halo, not totally directly but met guys sisters and stuff. I thought I was wasting my life playing it so much but it payed off :) It's weird how things turn out in a totally unexpected way..
