At last, the Forerunners exhausted every alternative and activated the Halo Array, killing themselves and all sentient life of sufficient biomass in the Milky Way, with the exception of those species safely placed on the Ark.
hopefully this will answer your questions

2 RepliesActually the blinding light makes the person's eyes bigger and their face distorted after squinting and cringing so hard. Here's a sketch of what it would look like.

1 ReplyOnly if they dive into the giant hole trying to get their glitched banshee back.

Ya that's why that ball thing flipped when they tried to activate them in halo 3
Thus, he said, his defenses did not violate the Rule of the Mantle. Unlike the Master Builder’s proposed Halos, the Shield Worlds did not require a great extinction, and in fact they could be used as immense refuges in time of crisis. In response, the Master Builder ordered that his Halos also be adapted to support and preserve species. Playing politics better than any of us, the Master Builder knew that this removed the Council’s last objection to his Halo strategy—the threat of violating the Mantle, of destroying the galaxy in order to save it.
Pretty sure it kills everything except for the flood, thus starving them of their food. I really don't think the flood can activate Halo so to answer your question, yes. Also - armor lock.

Edited by Siffera: 5/8/2014 9:32:24 PMConsidering it's purpose was meant to eradicate any kind of Flood infection, it wouldn't make sense for something as vulnerable as Halo itself would be an exception. That's why there are Shield Worlds (or at least that's what I believe they're for).

Halo 3 explained. Didn't it?
#gaming
Obviously not.

6 RepliesWhy wouldn't it? It wipes out all life in a certain radius, that should include the man pulling the trigger.

1 ReplyI'd imagine the Forerunners would be immune while firing it, at least. They weren't suicidal.

I think they have some sort of compartment or something inside of them. Either way if they fire them from the ark it does not kill them.

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure the Rings function like the shield worlds do. That's why there are Flood specimens on Halo arrays.
