You know the one, the one you thought you would never get past. Since we've all had that frustrating experience of dying over, and over, and over and over again. Only to be beaten down time and time again..... but then the chosen time comes... Heart beating, hands sweaty, and then finally, BOOM! Did you do it? You did! You really did! So share with me your boss fight struggles and finally beating that one.
For me it was Ornstein and Smough, just recently. It was so exhilarating, and so damn rewarding. I even solo'd it, which made victory just that much sweeter.
The Smelter Demon. Personally, I thought he quite possibly was the hardest boss in Dark Souls 2, followed closely by the Royal Rat Authority. I would roll away from his attacks, but they still seemed to connect. I tried all different types of resins, pyromancies, and bombs, but he didn't seem to care about them at all. I even tried summoning Lucatiel a few times, but she would die before even getting a third of his health down.
Eventually I managed to win by throwing on a gyrm shield (which up until that point I had never used and only then realized it had 100 flame blocking), which kind of felt like cheating. But hey, I'm just freakin' glad I beat the guy, because if I hadn't used that shield, I don't think I ever really would have.
