why blame Deej?

Deej isn't on the board of directors so why give him a hard time? Think about the impact it had on him after he had to type the four sentences that have ruined so many halo fans, and awaiting Destiny fans. Think about how hard it was to tell the world that one of the most beloved employees were fired "without cause" I support the marty movement because I grew up with halo, but give the guy a break.

  • Deej did it. His community guy job is just a facade. He's the puppeteer at bungie, pulling everyone's strings and forcing them to do his bidding. Don't question it or you'll end up like Marty too.

  • Deej is Major Nelson. He's gotta do a job dealing with fans while the higher ups sit in their Ferraris and suck at shifting.

  • I blame Deej for the community outrage due to the little blurp he made.
The reason the community is in an uproar is not because Marty was fired, but because Deej made a naive news statement that makes it seem like Marty decided to leave rather than he was fired. This termination was so sudden and unexpected by both the community and Marty, and all we got was a glib statement. He's not being treated with the respect that someone of his caliber deserves and we are not happy about it.
He easily could have written something more along the lines of:
After over a decade of being an integral part of Bungie, we regret to say that Martin O' Donnell has dismissed from Bungie Studios. In an effort to keep matters private, we will not disclose the circumstances of his termination. We appreciate his incredible work and wish the best in his future endeavors.
Instead of:
For more than a decade, Marty O’Donnell filled our worlds with unforgettable sounds and soundtracks, and left an indelible mark on our fans. Today, as friends, we say goodbye. We know that wherever his journey takes him, he will always have a bright and hopeful future. We wish him luck in all his future endeavors.
Although well written, its a lie. Marty did not part from Bungie as a friend, he was fired. This is like giving someone a pat on the back and a smile as you kick them out the door.

    • Because people need someone to blame, they always do. DeeJ just happened to take all the flak. Why? Because people didn't look too much into it.

      • Well, besides him being an absolutely worthless community manager, there's really nothing to blame him for.

As far as I know nobody is blaming Deej. But we are insisting he get us more information.

              • We can't blame DeeJ nor the developers, or the testers, or the artists, or the world builders, or the investment side, or anyone whose job it was to essentially build the game. So a majority of the Bungie employees are not at fault here, and it was only a few people who made the decision.

                • I don't see a single post blaming DeeJ, is the "Bungie's directors board" who are the ones responsible for this situation.

                • Yeah, I don't think anyone is seriously mad at DeeJ. At least I'm not. He's young blood, and a community guy. I don't think he has much, if any, authority on who gets canned for X reason. If Bungie doesn't wish to tell us why they let him go (and I can understand why they wouldn't want to inform us. Nobody likes airing the dirty laundry for all to see) then they should at least have a fitting tribute to him. Something more than a paragraph. He deserves a proper sendoff.

                • Instead of asking who said what or saying no one is, just read previous statements where I have explained people bashing Deej for it.

                • Deej is completely innocent in this situation. The only thing that is guilty is where bungie is headed. It is not the people that are at fault, but the ideas.

                • I don't think anyone has spoken out against Deej. If they have it was out of ignorance not, true anger. We're mad at what is currently an unknown entity "the board of directors". Everyone whose planning to bombard the mail sack... I'm all for that, but do it politely. Don't get sassy with Deej for no reason.

I think it was the intention of DeeJ to write as little as possible knowing that the Community would say everything he wanted to
