Madoka Magica is incredibly dark
So I've started watching Madoka Magica on Netflx. The anime itself looks super cutesy and its art style is super cutesy, but the anime is NOT super cutesy. It's actually pretty dark. I mean, I heard that Madoka Magica was kinda dark before going in, but jeez, I wasn't expecting this from an anime that looks all cutesy and whatnot.
Anyways, you should watch it. I'm not finished with it yet, but it's really good so far. If you have Netflix, you can watch it on there, and it's available both subbed and dubbed.

I started watching it yesterday. Yeah, it's dark. But I think the hype around it has lessened the impact of it for me. I sort of know what to expect and what the twists are going to be.

After KLK, I've been debating on whether I should go onto D-Frag, High School of the Dead, or RWBY; but I guess Madoka can be a contender too, especially considering that in the next few days I'm gonna have enough time to really catch up on muh animu.

23 RepliesStill calling it shit. Everyone kept telling me how it was totally going to throw me off. It totally didn't. I saw the "Twist" in episode 3 coming a mile away, and every other twist afterwards. Seriously, I finished it with a sense of disappointment because I was accurately able to predict over 75% of the show while watching it. "OMG guyz! Dark Soul gemz turn you into a witch!" Well what the -blam!- did you think was going to happen if they didn't purify it? Did you think they were just going to lose their Magical Girl status after that cat-demon-thing said they were stuck like that forever and the soul gem is basically their soul? Not to mention the whole shit with Madoka at the end was a total ass pull the likes of which wont usually be seen until Shit Art Online and Shitgeki No Kyojin come into play.
