Would the same people that praise Halo 2 crucify 343 because they ended up making a game that suffers from the same problems which is caused by the same publisher?
-
Halo 2 was -blam!-ing awesome.
-
Halo 2 is far better than 4 and it's ridiculously old lol
-
Halo 2 wasnt broken because the game actually had a soul, unlike gaylol 4...
-
Except Halo 2 was and is a decent game.
-
What matters is if the game is good, not how it was made.
-
4 RepliesIn what way was halo 2 "broken and unfinished"?
-
11 RepliesHere is the difference, halo 2 was a fun game, halo 4 was not a fun game.

After what most people felt about Halo 4, that shit is gonna feel some big backlash.
-
20 RepliesIt's just the effect of the internet. If Halo 4 was released back in the early 2000s, as in the age before the internet really kicked off, then it wouldn't have anywhere near as much hatred/flak as it got. Same goes for Reach. The effect of a massive community for a game who are able to vent any tiny frustration with the game turns into a literal shitstorm that taints anyone's and I mean anyone's opinion of the game. Whilst positive criticism is of course good, you didn't have people howling that Red Faction was a terrible broken game because of insta-kill guns or that you could tunnel through half of the map. They just enjoyed it/didn't play it. It's one of the reasons why I avoid game forums now, apart from here of course. The spiral of negativity just shites all over the enjoyment of a game. I used to post on battlelog but after seeing thousands of threads moaning about X or Y in the game it started to make me enjoy bits less. I would be surprised if I am the only person on the planet to be affected by this. Or look at the opposite effect for a better example. BF3's M16A3. Barely anyone used it, simple as that. Then when the big youtubers like Lelvelcap said that it's OP or compared EVERY SINGLE -blam!-ING GUN to the M16 the masses started to use it and now surprise surprise towards the end of it's lifespan it was just M16FieldA3. Or for BF4 - ACE Guns. Or the AWS. The internet is changing and has changed gaming, perhaps not for the best.

I think EA should've made Halo 5.
-
Ohhhh then we will not just hate but RIOT against 343....

1 ReplyEdited by DontBeThatGuy: 4/2/2014 7:23:01 AMWell it depends if they break the right parts. The double shot, BxR, superbounce, sword cancel glitches were so awesome. They made the game have so much more replay value. The main thing is that Halo reach, 4 and probably 5 are not arena shooters. People who love the OG halo games love Halo as an arena shooter so when you take away that aspect you totally f the game up. No matter how great they make Halo 5 it will NEVER be as good as Halo 1-3 if they do not have weapons on map, take out JIP, take out loadouts, have more small maps, etc.

Good thing I hate Halo 2:D
-
Then it would truly be a sequel to Halo 4.
-
-
Depends if its fun or not
-
Well lets hope H2A comes out in the fall and gives halo 5 more time.
-
Well, for one, I wouldn't be surprised.
-
10 RepliesHalo 2 was unfinished, but surely not broken.
-
Halo 2 was fun yet broken. Halo 4 was no fun and broken. Big difference yo.

57 RepliesEdited by BannedLemön : 4/1/2014 10:10:57 PMBut it isn't going to be made by "muh Bungie" and won't be Halo 3.5 so that automatically makes it bad.
-
7 RepliesEdited by Madman Mordo: 4/2/2014 3:19:37 PMI think the question you should really be asking is: "If Halo 5 fulfills and caters to the needs of all the Halo demographics, and is an objectively well polished and well designed game, will the 'let's hate on 343 because it's 343' bandwagon still continue to be immature counterintuitive crybabies?"
-
If it was good like Halo 2, then sure. What you're saying though is virtually impossible, because with the Xbox One, 343i can send out an update as large as they want to fix the entire game. That was not even possible on the 360, much less the OG Xbox. To give you an example, remember when we asked some Bungie employee on the Reach forum about adding armor to the game? It would require a 7 GB update. Well, on the Xbox One, that is actually realistic. You're giving us a situation that makes zero sense OP.

I loved Halo 2 multiplayer but hated the Campaign. With Halo 4 I hated both the multiplayer AND campaign. If Halo 5 gets either its multiplayer or Campaign right then it will be a success.
-
4 RepliesThat's jack up how we talking about halo on destiny app lol
-
Depends on how good the multiplayer is. If they hadn't of told me the story of how h2 was rush I would have never known.
