Shadow of Mordor: Rip off of Assassins creed?
Shadow of Mordor is a new lord of the rings game. it looks really cool but one problem. it copied the exact same animations from assassins creed from climbing walls to walking across ropes. heck, theirs even eagle vision! still looks like a good game tho.

4 RepliesI admit they look a little too similar, but then again I guess it's hard to make things look different when you're trying for the same style and also lack the crutch of modern technology. It's not like they have night vision or ziplines in Middle Earth and there's only so many ways a person can climb or walk across a beam. I didn't watch the whole vid, but I wonder if they included bows. If they did that properly that would start to set it apart from Assassin's Creed, which sucks at projectile weapons (I haven't played AC: IV, so maybe they fixed that, I don't know).

Who cares if its a "rip off"? AC did the whole free running movement thing so well that other companies want it. Good for them. The same thing happens in every game genre, one dev comes up with an amazing new feature and then suddenly all the games in that genre have it too. It happens. Personally i can't wait for shadow of mordor

Some of the mechanics are stolen outright, but the game itself is very different.

Seems okay, but I'm more iffy about how they're going to explain the protagonist's half-wraith aspect.

Plus this has alot more added content and great ideas I've never seen before, Just because the Combat and Movement is similar to AC, meh.. Really dislike people these days straight away comparing games, it really grinds my gears.
