I hate men who treat women like untouchable princesses
On places like facebook i see a lot of white knight types posting about how 'no real man would EVER hit a woman' or liking those retarded pictures with similar slogans and quite frankly i find it bullshit. If someone starts harrassing me in the street they're gonna get what's coming to them, male, female or otherwise. This isn't the 17th century, women are allowed to be just as ugly and annoying as men, so why should they be treated differently?
I know people IRL who are like this and it's just so cringeworthy. Even when it comes down to little things like insisting on holding doors open for them all the time or insisting to pay for all their food and drink (key word here is [b]insisting[/b]); does the woman have no say in this at all? I mean it's hardly the worst kind of traditional values to hold of women, but it still really grinds my gears that some men still seem to see women as fragile princesses that they should worship like a god. It doesn't help that some women think they should be treated like that, but i think it's largely the men's fault for facilitating it.

If women really want to be treated with equality, then it follows that any appropriate reasons to hit a man, is also an appropriate reason to hit a woman. Ideally you don't want to be physically harming anyone, but having a specific genitalia between your legs doesn't magically exempt you from that basic principle.

Well, around here the ladies aren't so prim and proper. There's farmhands, a bunch who work out in the fields, and even some I know that go out logging. Hell, I met one on the construction crew I worked on last year. I still stand by the old addage of don't hit a woman. But as a rule of thumb, if someone is trying to hurt you or kill you, then you go ahead and defend yourself. I'm not an aggressive person, and personally I don't want to come down to hitting anyone, guy or girl. It's a good thing that most of what I know defensive wise isn't made for severely hurting other people, just simple redirection of motion and the twist of a certain joint or applying of pressure on a simple area. In general, people bring up the point about how ladies are hit-proof and in the moral high ground of stuff like that, when I say we shouldn't be bloody hitting each other in the first place, regardless of gender.

In a fight situation, I don't care who it is, if they swing first I'll hit back. When it comes to holding the door for someone, again, I do it for anyone. It's just common courtesy.

1 ReplyI usually get doors for girls. I just see it as being polite. If its my girlfriend I can see always paying for her dinner, but not if we're just friends going on a casual lunch. I only pay for friends food when it's their birthday.
