The A40's are higher-quality, but I prefer the Pulse Elites because they're wireless and it's easy to use them on my Playstation(s), PC, and iPhone.

Definitely appreciate that input. I couldn't agree more. Have you ever tried both astro a40's? If so what are your thoughts in comparison to the pulse's?

Edited by BannedArcoloid: 2/9/2014 10:39:58 PMI've never owned A40's, but I've used them on more than one occasion. In terms of sound quality the A40's are better, but I found that the difference is negligible when you're actually playing. The A40's also don't have BassImpact either, which is something you may want to consider, especially if you listen to a lot of bass-heavy music. In terms of build quality, both the Pulse's and the A40's are great quality. Sturdy, not made out of cheap materials. I prefer the Pulse Elite's because they don't have a microphone arm. This means you have to talk at a decent volume for them to pick up all the audio, but I'm OK with that if it means I don't have to deal with a loose-hinged microphone arm later down the line. Both headsets are very comfortable, but I prefer the Pulse's due to both their wireless capabilities and the lack of a microphone arm, as I stated above. Ultimately, both headsets are great but if you already have the Pulse Elites I see no reason to spend more money on A40's.

Sounds good to me. Thanks pal! You're right. My only gripe about my Pulse's are the battery life. Then again, that's the downside with all wireless headsets. I've tried the bass impact once and I didn't like how it vibrated on my head often, especially playing CoD and BF4. I love not having no mic arm too. I had the original wireless headset that had the retractable mic arm. They did it's job, but hated how I looked like a Martian wearing those while I gamed. LoL
