I've been thinking about how in the book of Genesis, it is said that God created the universe in 7 days. This is one of the many things secular groups use to disprove the Bible. But what did Genesis truly mean by a "day"? When people first wrote the Bible, they did not have words for the great amounts we do today, such as a billion. They could not even comprehend such numbers. Perhaps a "day" is the closest translation those ancient peoples were capable of. What is a "day" to God? Before the universe was created, there was no concept of a day, for there was no Earth or Sun. God is ageless and eternal. A "day" to him could be a billion, or perhaps even a trillion, years. Perhaps the creation of the universe, the evolution of singular cells to animals, and the rise and fall of the dinosaurs, all could have been part of the 7 days leading up to the creation of the human race. Could evolution be the process God used to create and perfect humans? God is not bound by our perceptions or concepts of time. He follows his own rules.
