7 Days in Genesis.

I've been thinking about how in the book of Genesis, it is said that God created the universe in 7 days. This is one of the many things secular groups use to disprove the Bible. But what did Genesis truly mean by a "day"? When people first wrote the Bible, they did not have words for the great amounts we do today, such as a billion. They could not even comprehend such numbers. Perhaps a "day" is the closest translation those ancient peoples were capable of. What is a "day" to God? Before the universe was created, there was no concept of a day, for there was no Earth or Sun. God is ageless and eternal. A "day" to him could be a billion, or perhaps even a trillion, years. Perhaps the creation of the universe, the evolution of singular cells to animals, and the rise and fall of the dinosaurs, all could have been part of the 7 days leading up to the creation of the human race. Could evolution be the process God used to create and perfect humans? God is not bound by our perceptions or concepts of time. He follows his own rules. What do you guys think? This was meant to be a serious thread, not a fire starter. Please be respectful to one another. Obvious trolls will be ignored.
Before the universe was created, there was no concept of a day, for there was no Earth or Sun. 1:4 - And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 1:5 - And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. The word "day" has been translated from the Hebrew word "yom" יום , which means hot. I managed to find this that will help you understand the meaning of the word and its context. If you want to know what the original writings on the tablets and scribes were, use this, and click 'tools' near the verse.
In addition: Exodus 31: 12 - And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying... Exodus 31: 15 -For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the Lord. Exodus 31: 17 - It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
And be mindful that Moses wrote the first five books in The Bible(excluding the last bit of Deuteronomy), also referred to as the Pentateuch or Law: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.
