Why are some rich kids so fricking dumb?
Sometimes I wonder what happened to natural selection. There are these extremely dumb kids who have a bunch of money. Just now on my Facebook feed I saw this rich dumbass who posted pridefully that he just got his first speeding ticket in his goddamn Bentley. Of course, there are some rich people who are incredibly smart, hard-working, and nice, but it just seems like there is an abundance of rich retards who do the dumbest things and are proud of it.
Or maybe poor people do dumb things too but don't have the publicity to show them off, I don't know.

1 ReplyHere in Vancouver there are a lot of foreign rich kids, possibly in their teens or early 20s, driving Porsche's, BMWs, Mercedes, Audis, Ferraris and brand new Lamborghini's. Pretty strange to see, especially when its apparent they don't know how to drive properly. Saw a girl in a brand new BMW M3 decide to use the left lane on a red light, and who seemed surprised when cars were coming at her head on honking their horns. So she stops in the middle of the intersection, realises that maybe she should stick to the right lane and goes on with her day as if nothing terrible could have happened. Because screw it, I'm rich. Or daddy's rich.

Sheltered, no need to take responsibility or be independent. I live with 2 girls who grew up very wealthy; parents are senior Doctors, etc. They just don't get it, very immature and have a bubble view of life. Even my girlfriend's like this to a certain extent; her Mum married another man when my gf was 9 years old, and he's the CEO of one of the UK's largest private security firms so they're rich. She's sort of grounded because she remembers life before her Mum married into that money, but sometimes something will make her privileged upbringing apparent. I grew up dirt-poor in a broken family so I honestly can't really identify with the rich kids who are totally ignorant of real life. There's this lad who's friends with one of my flatmates and his family's balling; he's a perfectly nice guy and comes with us on nights out, but I honestly can't see myself being friends with him because he's just too far removed from my disposition on life. My best mates back home are from backgrounds like mine. But here at Uni there are a lot of rich kids, and tbh I can't really click with them.
