Well for gays, it's just to be recognized as a couple by that state. Traditional Marriage is a marriage between god. So it doesn't involve gays, that's like sinning in church

Marriage in the USA is a business affair. It has never been a religious thing.

Edited by Legend To None: 1/20/2014 10:54:12 PMWell al of the marriages I've been to,it's been in a church and we've prayed and God was mentioned A lot...but then you do have those that take place in court or just a ceremony without god in it,so just vows and promises to each other including the whole dress and all
-
That's just the ceremony. The actual marriage is the paperwork they submit in. You could have as many ceremonies as you like, they only hold meaning for you. Actual marriages? That's one at a time and handled at the courthouse.
-
Well the Ceremony is the marriage under god,the paper work for your marriage to be recognized by the state is at the courthouse
-
No law about having any ceremony you want. Legally you are bound to one marriage at a time. And good luck getting God's law enforced.
-
Gods law doesn't need to be enforced,it's between the couple.. People can has any marriage they want but ether way you need the papers just for financial stuff and all
-
Then why do some people use religious reasoning for denying gay marriage?
-
Because everyone has their own perspective on it. Some think that marriage is sacred between God and the Couple,so some don't even believe in just getting married in a courthouse, they don't think its a true marriage. So they think marriage is best in a church so if gays can't get married under God then they shouldn't get married since it's not right. So this is like history repeating it self with the discrimination beliefs even tho years from now this won't even seem like a big deal as it is today. With that being said, I still don't want my state to legalize it, I dot agree with gays but I'll accept em as people and won't give em shit.
-
And we have nothing to say to each other any more then

Edited by Legend To None: 1/21/2014 5:07:55 AMWhys that? Are we in agreemence?
-
What about non-Christians who marry? are they not really married?
-
Well not under god I suppose, they just got papers to say they are so when they divorce they can legally separate belongings easily enough. Stuff like that
-
