18 RepliesBecause: 1) The last 2 hours of the game are absolutely epic. 2) Pretty much everything in the game converges to reach a crescendo. 3) Ilos. One of the most amazing planets and missions in the series. 4) Conversation with Vigil. 5) Sense of one man/woman in a race against time. 6) Confrontation with Saren. 7) Seeing Sovereign ROFLstomp the Alliance and Council ships giving a clear indication of the threat posed by the Reapers. 8) Variety of outcomes to set up the next game. 9) Dat credits music.

2 RepliesEdited by Axdinosaurx: 1/21/2014 8:17:20 AMThe last 90mins of the game is fantastic. It leaves you satisfied but also looking forward to the sequel. Unfortunately ME2 was irrelevant to the overall plot (until the arrival DLC) and the combat was as barebones and watered down as it could possibly get.

2 RepliesI disagree. It's pretty bland TBH

Simply put, it's easier to have a good story for the first game you spend in a new universe than it is to draw out a story arc across several games in that universe.

Imagine playing it the first time and not knowing there was going to be a ME2. Imagine thinking Shepard was actually dead and then seeing him/her running out of the ruins and standing on top victorious. It could have been even more powerful had you played it then (unless you did, then good job).

Shepard grinning when he walks out of the rubble Sovereign created.

Because it is best ME ending!
