The Old Ways

You all remember this and how it held our community together. How it held us to a higher standard. The lack of rules is a big problem. What was once taboo (and for a good reason) is now accepted as the 'norm'. Users are now free to spam without repercussions. 'Shitposting' is now an everyday thing - #Destiny is being attack by #Offtopic on the daily - which would be ban worthy back in the day. I'm sure you know somebody who has actually left the site because of these users. How sad is that? Things are going to start changing around it. And I need your help to do that. Like Deej said, we can shape our community to our liking. We are the answer to our own problem - but we lack organization. With this group - Community Enforcement, we will all be on the same page. Only one requirement is needed and that is you must have been a member on B.net for at lease one year. Of course if you've been here for many more, you're welcome in. More information (such as how we operate) is in the group forums. The old ways are returning. Eventually.

 • I totally agree. The mods have been made almost useless and the rules are so lenient. It allows all the trolls, spammers, alt armies and shit posters and even nsfw posters to get away. Seriously. The rules are meant to enforce and be strict like the old bnet not be rules similar to a baby park. The mutes don't work, you can't make the magically disappear and since "the mute button" apparently gets rid of trolls they don't need to stop since you are already blocking them away, Right? No. You are also allowing people to carry on trolling and spamming and this decreases the point of making good threads therefore there will be less meaningful threads when you mute and obviously less threads in general since you muted shitposters/threads which make up a large majority of the current threads. Not to mention the report button doesn't do shit. No one bothers to use it because they see no need. They just ignore and don't report since the chances of anyone else reporting is minimal unless it is a really, really bad thread which is guaranteed to get alot of reports. No wonder spammers don't ever get banned or trolls, no reports and since the mods have no power, what is the point of them even trying. Hey, they even stripped the power of groups for no reason and aren't even returning the groups to how they used to be. The community has now reached a point of needing no dignity and I don't blame them. The rules don't enforce, bans are rare and no one even cares because they know the report button won't cut it. The community tried to stay out of trouble and act like they has at least some dignity and mature because they knew the punishments, the consequences, the bans and mods, the strict rules! Obviously Achronos is probably going to reply with "Use the mute button" without realizing its faults. What Burrito posted also basically expresses my thoughts.
The current system clearly does not and never will work, but Bungie has shown no interest in the issue aside from 'just keep muting' as if some of us don't already have hundreds of mutes. Just report stuff. I report everything bad now whether it will net a ban or not. I have been told not to bother, but if they are going to waste my time muting so much, I will make sure they are aware that there is a problem and something needs to change. Also group limit of 10 sucks.
