DRM encourages more piracy, and studies have shown this to be true. It's because gamers don't like DRM and will boycott any game with it, most of the time.

That still doesn't justify doing this shit. They want people to stop pirating games, so they implement DRM, then gamers still pirate the games to boycott the DRM. If devs were to stop adding DRM, then their games would still get pirated. This is why we can't have nice things.

Whenever I pirate a game I usually buy a copy a few months later anyways, same with books. An example would be if I had skyrim for the 360 but I wanted to play it on the PC, do I really want to shell out more for the same thing + the DLC I have? Hell no.
