So I'm playing Sonic 2 and I've just beaten the airplane level with 7 lives and a continue remaining. Now the second the next level starts you enter an arena and a mechanical version of sonic descends onto the rightmost corner of the screen. This bastard can attack you with either a roll or a jump attack and you have no way of knowing which is coming next. One hit is all it takes to lose a life. On the first Sonic game the final boss had a consistent strategy which made the fight possible but here it's completely unpredictable. I ended up losing all 10 lives on this one fight.
