Kids run 90 seconds slower per mile these days...
Researchers analysed data spanning 46 years and involving more than 25 million children in 28 countries. On average, children today run a mile 90 seconds slower than did their counterparts 30 years ago, they said.
Tap kek. Do you think you could run faster than your mom/dad could when they were your age?
I know I could, my dad was quite short until he was 20, then a he grew over a foot and a half lol. Yes since I run 6Km every 2 days and my parents were never particularly athletic. Chances are i could run a mile pretty quickly but I wouldn't be particularly fast after the mile since a mile is 2.5km I think. A few months ago my casual pace took me at 6 minutes per km but that could be sped up without too much trouble. EDIT: Disregard, my 8:26 time was for 2.5km.
