Nope. They just want the problems of Halo 4 fixed and a competitive edge brought back. That might sound like they want another Halo 3 but that just goes to show that Halo 3 did a lot of things well and Halo 4 didn't do well. 343 meant well, but the reality of their decisions didn't pan out.
Halo 3 did a lot of things well
Indeed. From map design to weapon placement and the concept of equipment, I think that Halo 3 managed to get most of its formula sorted out pretty well. If they'd removed some of the redundant weapons, removed dual-wielding and buffed weapons like the Spiker (like they did in ODST to compensate for this), and fixed the BR then I dare-say Halo 3's matchmaking would have been damn near perfect. I just really want equipment to return, it was an excellent compliment to the golden triangle due to how it added a new dimension to teamwork and map-control (though some pieces of equipment could've used a few tweaks). Grabbing a Bubble Shield or Gravity Lift could be just as important as getting the Rocket Launcher. The amount of times I managed to send Warthogs plunging to their deaths with a well-timed Gravity Lift are far too numerous to count. Halo 4 has some fantastic arena style maps - Landfall, Haven, Skyline, Daybreak, Monolith, Perdition, and Pitfall (the latter being part of this list for obvious reasons) are all well-suited to Halo 3's style of play. But some aspects of the gameplay, like sprint and jetpack, disrupt the flow of these maps by making maps feel much smaller, losing the emphasis on controlling certain locations, and everybody seems to just charge into each other. I think a return to the classic formula while having a separate playlist devoted to Halo 4's style of gameplay would be the best bet.

For the last part that's what social and ranked could be. Social is the H4 style and Ranked would the more competitive.

Obviously not if you actually read to piece. The article clearly states that AAs and loadouts can work completely fine in a Halo game, but just don't work in their states in Reach and 4.

I want active camo out. Whoever thought that giving people the ability to turn invisible on demand - when in all other games, it was a sought after power up that spawned occasionally - must've been hit by a train or dropped on their head when they were younger.
-
That's true but a lot of things screamed "make halo 3.5!"
-
Only if you read it out of context.

Apparently.

I only partially agree with it but who knows maybe 343 will see we aren't happy
