Posted by: AzureNightmare i need help linking my gamertag to bungie. but when i go to xbox.com and sign in it forces me to make a new one instead of signing on to my account ColonialWinter
You've got to sign into Xbox.com with the same email address and password that you used to create your Bungie.net profile. Once you do this, you'll be signed into both Bungie.net and Xbox.com, and your gamertag should be linked to your profile.

Ok heres the legend i guess. Bungie.net Profile - Example 1 Bungie.net Profile - Example 2 WLID - example2@yahoo.com Now with given info. What I want to do is to get my email (example2@yahoo.com) to be linked with "Example 2" instead of being linked with "Example 1". Is there a way to do that?
Posted by: ThePriz3Fight3r Okay. I have a problem. This account (ThePriz3Fight3r) is the account I would like to use from now on. However, I have an old account (PrizeFighter) that has my current gamertag associated with it. The email and WLID linked to this account is not the email I need. I need the email and WLID currently linked with my other account to be linked with this one. Help? I may need to clarify, but PLEASE HELP ME!
This is exactly what I want as well, but I don't think it works :(

I have been trying to link my gamertag for some time now, and this thread showed me how it was supposed to be possible, but for some reason, When I go to account management, and click windows live ID, I get a message saying that I can't connect to Xbox live, and I should please try again later. It doesn't show my WLID on the right side of my screen, and if I click the option to change my WLID, the same error message reappears, and then it sends me back to the WLID page, where the message appears for the third time. Does anyone know what is causing this? I have tried: recovering my Gamertag, performing maintenence on my hard drive, and plugging my xbox directly into my modem, rather than through a router.

Thank you Crypticguardian for this post. I must save it. But i'm not sure how :[ *tear*

Ok so I know that it usually takes a day or so for a GT name change to update on B.net but how long will it take before a GT change is updated? I linked a new GT to my account earlier today and it's been updated on xbox.com but on B.net I'm still linked to my old GT which is also linked to the new b.net account I re-linked it to. That's weird, a GT being linked to two B.net accounts at the same time. [Edited on 03.14.2009 3:22 PM PDT]

Just wanted to tag this. I changed internet providers recently which changed my email address. I haven't read it all, but it seems that I can now say goodbye to all the medals and such that I earned in Halo 3. I can still log in under the old WLID, but it no longer shows any info. This sucks. I've bought every Halo game, and now just changing my email address screws up my records. There has to be a way to fix this.
-
I know currently there is no way to change the e-mail associated with your BNet account, but will there be a way in the future? I recently changed my WLID e-mail to a more used one and thus unlinked my GT from my BNet profile. i would like to re-link it with the new e-mail so I don't lose my posts and join date (a bit petty, yes), hopefully they will have a way in the future.

It's been a couple days now, and this random GT is still linked to my B.net account. I have no clue who this is. Also, I can't change my window live ID for my real GT because it keeps saying I can't connect to Xbox Live, for the past week!?. Even though I have been playing MM? fishy. What is going on? I want to link my GT but these two things are stopping me. Another thing, I can't sign in to my original B.net account even though it should have the same Email and PW as my current GT. I was on one day and it just signed me out unexpectedly, can't get back on. The only thing I want my GT to be linked for is so I can post in Optimatch. If I can prove that this GT is mine, can I post in Optimatch, or do I have to wait till sometime this fall for auto delete?
Posted by: Scottay Very helpful, however I have one question: Is it possible to change the email associated with a Bungie.net account and use that email for another bungie.net account that is already made?
No, you are unable to change the Windows Live ID associated to a Bungie.net account. The only solution would be to let your account auto-delete. Theoretically, after one year of inactivity, you could sign back in with that email address and create a new profile.

I probably will never use this, but I will use this if I ever do need to unlink or link and whatnot. You deserve a cookie Cryptic!

Wow, this will definitely come in handy. I'll have to save this thread. Thanks.

Gracias por el informacion. But it fixed itself. Cheers.

You must have changed the Windows Live ID for both accounts there somewhere in that process, so I would recommend switching the old FOLP9 account ID to match your Bungie.net one, and switch the silver burritosenior account to an alternate ID. Doing that should automatically link your gamertag to your profile without requiring you to do any extra work.
-
OK I apologize if this has been asked/answered before but... I just changed my GT. I changed it to 'burritosenior'. I had an alt that was already 'burritosenior'. So I changed that alt's name and then changed my main account's name to burritosenior. Now it looks like it switched accounts on my Bnet profile! It has the old burritosenior linked to my Bnet profile, instead of the new burritosenior. The new burritosenior was the account linked before, just under a different name (FOLP9). The account linked isn't even burritosenior anymore! I changed the account linked right now to a different name, so this is out of date. My account is a Brig, and this one is a sergeant silver account -.- So will this just correct itself, or am I screwed? Should I try changing my WLID or something? Just that it was already set to the account I wanted it to be. Cheers. [Edited on 12.29.2008 8:39 AM PST]

halo 3 RULES and xXDCORRALXx is perfect in halo 3 agreeee please obama obama yeaaaa and mexians
Posted by: Okay, I need to know if I'm totally screwed here! I created this Bungie.net account (stolenova) but when the process of linking to my XBox gamertag came about, I entered the wrong one. My gamertag is "Stolenova1", but I accidentally linked it as just "Stolenova". From what I read up above, it looks like I'll need a new Bungie.net account and a new Windows Live ID, correct? My current Windows Live ID login uses my current e-mail address which is "stolenova@*******.com." I would like it if I didn't have to get a new e-mail address just to login to Bungie.net. If I were to create a new WLID and change the e-mail address to something else, hypothetically should I be able to reattach my e-mail address to the new WLID since it was unassociated from the old WLID? And if that worked, that would mean I wouldn't have to screw around with account settings because "stolenova@*******.com" would be attached to the new WLID as would the XBox Live account(?). Am I making sense? Really all I want to do is change the gamertag and nothing else. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

Posted by: Okay, I need to know if I'm totally screwed here!
