I would have to trek west, past my homely desert and over the gaping mountain range-- yet it may be a good excuse to visit some family and loaf about some features of Seattle. What sort of LAN were you thinking of anyway?

A fun one! Just come kind if community LAN. What games specifically I'm not sure.

Well, the success of LAN parties seems to depend on ratio of pizza, drinks, TVs, open space, bathrooms, controllers, batteries, game copies and consoles to people, as well as the length, date, balance of volume, &c. Plans help a lot (although they should never be truly strict) by keeping things moving when it starts to slow down. And, of course, no one wants any "that one guy" sort of situations where, for instance, "that one guy" grabs the biggest TV, ups the volume, and starts playing FIFA by himself. Or in worst case, when "that one guy" proclaims himself the DJ of the night, and makes sure the party is always drowned out with his weird alternative genres of music...

All of which will be planned out. Food comas will ensue.
