Multiple of your sources say the same thing, and one even says "I am not a expert on Japanese military". I never said he wasn't afraid of the army. Just he knew that it would be foolish. Now I'll accept he never said that, you are stupid if you think he didn't know that. Yomamato went to Harvard for 2 years spoke English and knew about the U.S. Heavily. Sure he may not have said it, but he still knew it. And it's true anyway.

Edited by Display: 10/26/2013 8:37:15 PMJust to clear this up real quick: Perhaps the large number of privately owned firearms in the US did play a role in the Japanese decision not to launch an invasion, but it definitely was not "the reason why". The truth is that Japan, fighting wars in China, Bhirma and other countries in the Pacific area, simply wasn't capable of doing so. They lacked the resources, troops and equipment for such an operation and knew that shifting to another front on the other side of the ocean while the Soviets were a very real danger in West would simply not be feasible. They could have never fought the war on all those fronts, cross the Pacific and defeat the entire US military in the first place. It is pretty ridiculous to claim that the reason they chose not to invade were the citizens of a country when it was impossible to even launch a real counterattack and defeat its army in the first place.

Yeah, you have a point there. Luckily I was a relatively good student so I still had quite a bit of spare time during my studies. I had and still have a pretty great social life, but I've never been much of a sports guy.
