Title for reference.
I've watched a few episodes so far, and each one was increasingly worse than the last. So it begs the question, how do Americans find it funny? The humour is so terrible and it's like they don't even try to write good jokes.

It used to be funny, long, long ago. - Der

Genreally, we don't. Around election time, however, they have a tendency to do something clever now and again, but SNL is still surviving on the following gained from it's past glory days of actually being genuinely funny and/ or relevant.

It's only funny sometimes.

You don't like celebrity jeopardy?
-
Now that the supreme goddess Amy Poelher left it is not funny.

Some skits are pretty funny. Others aren't so much. Plus...

It hasn't been funny since Sandler, Spade, and Hartman.

I like it once in a while..

It's not the day to day stuff, it's that they occasionally make a truly hilarious one.

Edited by Ninjabird00: 10/23/2013 8:51:55 PMI haven't watched it in years but I watched a few episodes from the 80s and they were hilarious. Lol who remembers or has watched the Celebrity Jeopardy sketch on SNL? Cracked me up.

Yeah, it's subjective. That's like standing outside a window, watching a family eating a thanksgiving meal and remarking "That turkey looks dry." You wouldn't know. You aren't a part of it. It's called a different culture. Seriously, I can't even stomach The Office UK. But that's because I've never been immersed in European culture, so half of the jokes are lost on me.

A lot of us don't. A lot of the older casts were much better than this pile of shit.

Edited by Anonymous Entity: 10/23/2013 8:44:53 PMHmm I don't know. Maybe because some people including foriegners find it funny. I know its a concept hard to grasp, but people like things you don't.

1 ReplyIt's just different humor from a different country. You really have to know the culture to understand the jokes. I tried watching some English equivalent of SNL once and I cringed.
-
I've always only liked select sketches they've done. Mostly from the days with Will Ferrell.

i dont.

SNL goes through cycles where it's good, then bad, then good again. It hasn't been good for a while.
