If you're a console gamer, the fact remains that the best Halo title you can play online is H3.
No one could seriously say with a straight face that either H4 or Reach had better MM, surely?

Reach has the best gameplay minus the armor-lock and jetpack.
-
Considering I have far too many awesome memories of H3 to name, considering I played thousands of games for years, considering it was the first MP game I ever truly adored, considering I found my own little gang on there for good time shenanigans for a couple of years, then no, it's unlikely I was going to enjoy Reach and 4 as much. That said, 4 has some of the best gunplay in the series, dare I say better than 3's, and Reach, despite being a slowed down, less colourful version of Halo, is still an awesome game in its own right.
-
Halo 4 is fantastic, of course Reach was an abomination, and Halo Wars is also incredible. Oh, and Halo: Combat Evolved/Halo 2 on Xlink Kai.

Edited by Smarkdow: 10/20/2013 5:45:00 AMI'll say it. I liked Reach more than Halo 3. I liked the weapon sandbox more, I liked the art style more, I liked Forge more in Reach, I liked the FOV more, etc. I'd even go as far to say that Reach was more of a successor to Halo CE than Halo 2 or 3 ever were.

ZB Reach says hi
-
Halo 2.
-
Halo 4 and Reach had better matchmaking.
-
>halo 4/reach >good matchmaking pick one
-
Both. Anyway, Battlefield trumps the entire series. All Halo matchmaking is pretty boring.

Edited by FairlySplendid: 10/19/2013 11:40:31 PMHalo 3 will always have its flaws and, honestly, they are glaring. In the same way that Reach and H4 had flaws. Different flaws but also glaring. The difference is H3 was "a time and a place". It won prom queen, most popular, and best dressed back in 2007. So people are FAR MORE WILLING to overlook its issues. However, they are still there and plainly seen. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. I like Halo 3, but Reach and H4 had better graphics, better audio, and better base-player movements. The last one is the most important. I feel like a space-man when I play Halo 3.

Hey, I remember that one semi-decent map in Reach too.
-
I wasn't talking about the map, ZBNS gunplay for Reach far outclasses 3
-
You missed the point...
-
Edited by Yonko: 10/20/2013 2:22:18 AMI honestly prefer Reach ZBNS to Halo 3 since shots actually register in that game, and its not running at a miserable 20fps. If Halo 3 wasn't so clunky it would be 10x better than it is.
-
IMO ZBNS Reach is the true sequel to Halo CE that I always wanted to play.
-
IMO ZBNS Reach is the true sequel to Halo CE that I always wanted to play.
So you wanted the sequel to be awful?
-
No, I wanted the sequel to have satisfying gameplay, a nice weapon sandbox, and be largely free of bullsh1t.
-
Unlucky you got Reach then.
-
Unlucky you can't recognize ZBNS Reach was a better competitive game than Halo 3 ever was in its entire lifetime.
-
Shame Halo 3 had the much, MUCH better community when it came to custom games. And the better maps in general.
-
A) Cool. That doesn't change the fact that ZBNS Reach's gunplay was 209348230984 times better. B) As I've said before, I agree completely with maps. Though since Reach's Forge completely trumps Halo 3's, that benefit might be negated...
-
"That benefit might be negated" Forge might be better in Reach, but ashame about the colour palette.
-
True, true. I still think Forge was the best in
Halo Wars
