I recently start playing Marathon 1, right now I'm using the latest beta of Aleph One for Windows (Aleph One 1.1b3), I'm using the files from the archive Marathon-20130813-Win.zip which I downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/marathon/files/Preview%20Builds/2013-08-13/. I am stuck in the Deprivation Chamber of the level "Never Burn Money"! I tried persistently dozens of times to do the wall climbing with grenades to reach the teleporter, but with no success. I read carefully the instructions in the Marathon Spoiler Guide explaining how to do it, and even found this video in Youtube which allows to see exactly how it is done (including how to easily adjust the perfect angle towards the left wall), but when I try to reproduce it in my game and fire the second grenade, I'm propelled backwards, rather than forward, and then hit the ground. In the pfhorums, I was told that in this latest beta version of Aleph One, «every detail of the original Marathon has been preserved and recreated, including flying with the Flamethrower or Alien Weapon in low-gravity, and wall-climbing with grenades», and this is what bugs me: I'm beginning to think that this might not be true :( Can someone please help me?

I did a new surprising finding related to this issue. I came to the conclusion that the wall-climbing can be (easily) done in the normal way in Aleph One 1.1b3, as it should be, as long as you don't load any saved game made in that same level in which you're trying to do it. Otherwise (if you load a saved game made in the same level, before you do it), it can still be done, but has to be performed moving backwards, which is more difficult to accomplish – check this video.
