How does the save system in GTA online work?
I was level 12, I got disconnected, then went back to level 9. Even though it says it autosaves when you leave...

I was about to ask the same question over on their forums as I've lost about 50k because of this. As my game has frozen as well as constantly kicking me off xbox live for some reason as well.

The only surefire way to save progress in Online is to switch from Online to single player.

Edited by Sapid: 10/5/2013 9:04:43 PMYou have to leave manually and pray. Normally I go to the character wheel, switch to a single player person, quick save in singleplayer, then shut my xbox off. Worked for me so far. Xbox 360 patch came out today so saves might have been fixed.

5 RepliesIt just deleted my character. Again. Well fu*k you too, Rockstar. You make 800 million in a day and you can't even find decent servers for a service you launched two weeks after the actual base game.

The auto save only saves the data if you leave the maps or locations. I had to restart my leveling also. They should create a save menu in game. Hopefully there will be other save options in the near future

You have to leave. If it disconnects you or freezes it doesn't save. Happened to my mate today he dropped from 25 down to 18
