And on another note, do Exo even need helmets?
EDIT: for those who don't know the difference, cyborgs are humans augmented with robotic parts, and androids are robots designed to be more human.
"Destiny Drawing Board: Arcus Regime"
According to the latest drawing board, it seems that droids are completely separate from regular players. Hence, Exos are more likely to be cyborgs than androids

cyborgs are half human half robot droids are a type of robot.
-
Cyborge so i can still feel it when i gis

Android

In Halo, Cortana is an AI clone of Halsy. I think that Exos are AI clones put in a robotic body. Like Jarvis controlling iron man suits. They are clones of the best gardians, living on as an intelligent AI robot.

Edited by TinglyFlame: 11/6/2013 7:17:57 PMpretty sure there cyborgs. because all of the other species (Awoken, Human,Exo) are humanoid so that's my guess. also if they were andrioids they could be hacked by the vex or the other species, but that would meen a disadvantage witch bungie said all the species were the same , so that's another reason why I think they are cyborgs

4 RepliesEdited by Mirzababa: 12/9/2013 12:16:23 AMThe Awoken are Cyborg, I'm going to go ahead and call that. Exo my very well be "Ghost in The Machine" (cool movie btw). Technically this still makes them Cyborg because they were a sentient human being at one point. Their mind (physical brain) or their consciousness (digitized?) might have been transported into a.. shell.. but then you run into The Theseus Paradox and The Swampman Theory if it is not their physical brain that this transferred.. this means they either become a completely different person or make a copy (simulated brain) of themselves or some THING completely different all together.. OR They could be genuine Androids...

Android :) fingers crossed!

Cyborg.

They are described as "sinister, powerful, and tireless war machines." I would assume they are androids just based on that. But we shall see when they release more info on the races.

1 ReplyI wonder what flows out of an Exo's wounds. Blood? Maybe they have a network of some kind of tubing, "artificial blood vessels", flowing throughout the robot body and to the brain. Or what if they spew some kind of white fluid, like the Androids in Alien? Or both? I wonder if they have any special visual effects when they die. Like if a human / awoken dies, their bodies pool blood. Same could happen with the Exo, but with additional electric sparks / twitching.

cyborg... I think...

I beleive they are cyborgs

Edited by MR DEATHBOT: 10/5/2013 9:54:35 PMThey damn well better be androids, when I heard about the races and classes I was so happy. This will be the first game where I can finally play as myself.

I think they're just like transformers, besides being giant and...you know, transforming.

"What are you doing Dave?"

5 RepliesEdited by hopla: 10/5/2013 7:47:04 AMI think they're probably 'androids', just my guess. And if you look at the picture above, you'll see the shape of the back of its head is not big enough to actually house a proportionate human head. So I'd say there's no organic brain and no helmet. I kind of like the idea of Terminator-esque bodies with Do Androids Deam of Electric Sheep-esque minds. I think they're reanimated soldiers with digitized neural pathways.

3 RepliesDo you think they dream?

1 ReplyBetter yet, do Exo's have faces?

4 RepliesHopefullly they never explain it directly through a cut scene. I hope we will find out through exploration. (find a book or over hear a comment from an npc) It would be cool if we have to piece it together through multiple sources.
-
3 RepliesA much more intriguing question is: what are the Awoken, exactly?
-
Robots with digitized neural pathways from actual humans.
-
From the concept art i think they'll be cyborgs
