Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the MB an Intel HM76 Express Chipset?

It is possible, but it doesn´t say anywhere what model the motherboard is and I don´t have the expertise or tools to completely open my laptop and extract the motherboard to make sure. I gues I´ll take the laptop to another place and explain the situation to them and see if they can find this out for me. And also see if it´s possible to find out if by replacing the cable would solve my problem. Thanks for the links anyways. They seemed on the right track.
