"Calling out" other users isn't really against the rules by itself. But, by all means, if you don't like what someone posts, please use the appropriate hide/mute/report buttons. Even if a moderator marks the report as innocent, your own view will be cleansed of the offending post/user.

You wut m8?

Someone liked a post in here, came to see what i posted, and got hit with some glorious nostalgia.
-
Achronos. I've been wondering, your Avatar is a .gif, but it doesn't move. Why?
-
Because when it was created, avatars could only be gifs. (2001).

Reported, muted and followed

Epic thread is epic. Achronos vs. Camnator.
-
Ohgod, I've seen this before and it's not going to end well...
-
And what of Camnator using his flood of alts to circumvent mutes and bans and to mass report threads to auto hide status?
-
Well, you could start by not reacting to everything he says. You and a few others seem to fall for his bait posts as easily as I've baited Camnator in this thread. Why some of you who claim to hate him announce you're muting/reporting him is a mystery to me. That just tells him to switch to a new account. As for the mass reporting... don't worry about it. The impact he can have is significantly less than it would appear.

He knows....

He'll win what?

"Win" an online exchange, one can not.

This is how. Yoda isn't very wise after all :)

Muted. Bye now.
-
Well that's not very nice :O, why are you muting me? :'(
-
at first i thought your glasses were crooked.

Maybe we should add this to the TOC. We are starting to see some new users, and I'd prefer they not be run off by our less savory members.
-
It is too unspecific - it is exactly the kind of arbitrary rule we moved away from, and with good reason. It is better to focus on why you think a particular post that is "calling people out" is bad. Is it offensive? We have rules for that. Harassment? Same deal. I suspect it is honestly because you think Camnator is douche, and you'd rather just not see his posts anymore. We have a button for that, too. The moderators don't have to wait for reports to act, but they have a very specific set of things they are allowed to act on now. Such items tend to be very objective things like "is this user posting porn". "Camnator being a douche" (or the "Play nice rule") is not something they are charged with enforcing. It is simply too subjective. For example, Camnator probably thinks he's a fine example of poster. I'm sure one of his other alts will agree with him in that regard. Multiply that by each user's differing, subjective views on what is a good post, and that's why we leave it to each individual user to handle the subjective evaluations. It is the only way to be fair.

I'm not complaining about Camnator. I'm calling out those that are making offensive threads about him. And Shadows (who has already opted to take a break because of this behavior) and a few others.
-
Don't focus on the name I used, that's mostly just because Canmator is entertaining to mess with in threads like this. If it helps, replace his name with "Shadows" in my post. The underlying point remains regardless of the example name I use.
-
I love that you know who those two are exactly.
-
I thought it counted as harassment. While not exactly against the rules, it fits in there.
