Kind of a weird request, but in the military if you're left-handed they make you learn your rifle backwards. So you get use to seeing your shell casings fly by.
It would be a funny little "wink" to the armed forces if they did the same and didn't actually offer left-handed weapons, or at the very least, certain older-model rifles would have to be fired reversed.

I'm left handed and when I was being trained with the M9 they just gave me a left-handed weapon.

AF. The guns are exactly the same, just the release is on the opposite side so you don't burn your face off.

Then my buddy's platoon got hosed. He wasn't given the option during basic. Then again, that was almost ten years ago.

I'm headed to AF BMT pretty soon myself, I'm a left handed shooter but I do everything else right handed.
