Since a lot of my work books for college are the same colour, I have decided to print off pictures with the aim of easily determining which book is which. For history I have a picture of Stalin on my book for work on the Cold War, and a picture of James I for my work book on the Civil War. My religious studies books have Nietzsche (philosophy) and Marx (ethics). Now, for my unit one politics book I have a hammer and sickle. Would it be inappropriate to put a swastika on my other book? [i]For the sake of clarity: I didn't actually do it nor was I going to. This is simply a reflection of how decent, or even neutral symbols, can come to take negative or evil connotations. And, more importantly, how easily our perception of something can be altered by terrible atrocities.[/i]
