I bought a few items that boosted alchemy. Then I made a fortify restoration potion. I went out, opened the menu, drank the potion, in unequipped the armor, closed then reopened the menu, reequipped the armor and then made another fortify restoration potion. I did this ten times. I then made a fortify enchanting potion. With this I went over to the enchanting table, and built a set of gloves that have fortify alchemy and smithing at about 7000%.
I made dragon scale light armor, a full set, and my AR is about 8000. My sword or bow can kill an elder dragon in one shot. I can stand and be attacked by three giants, and my red health bar doesn't even appear.
So... Now what?

2 RepliesNow try the game without the exploits. You haven't glitched/broken the game, despite the fact that it's called the "Fortify Restoration Glitch". The mechanics of the fortify Restoration potions work exactly as they're supposed to, but someone at Bethesda never put in the code string to cap the effect, hence you get the effects you currently experience. I think you'll find that if you get the bonus from the potion up a bit higher, then you'll glitch the game out. Once your bonuses get high enough, the game cannot calculate it any more, and nerfs it back down as if you had no bonuses (or at least severely weak bonuses). But now that you know what ascending to the Godhead feels like, try it without any of the Fortify Restoration Loop.

2 RepliesOP it isn't the actual armor that is resulting in you taking no damage it is the effects on the armor. As people have already stated there is a cap on armor that prevents such things from happening. However you are abusing an entirely different aspect of armor. That is in regards to fortifying it which has no cap. As a result if you added something like fortify health onto your armor you would be for the most part invincible. As for the glitch itself more details can be found here, but it is essentially what I just said.

3 RepliesI thought the restoration glitch was fixed with the latest patch.
-
I never had any glitch issues ever with Skyrim.
-
Skyrim was broken out of the box - I can't remember the last time Bethesda made a decent game that wasn't crippled by bugs and issues at release. Todd Howard should be fired.

3 RepliesThey made legendary mode for just these kinds of OP builds. Think its still only on PC though
-
1 ReplyYou realise there is an armour cap right? Its capped at 567, so even though it might say 8000 its really only 567 which blocks the maximum of 80% of damage. Working on your 8000 rated dragon scale armour is a waste of time, considering that you could be wearing op fur armor with a lesser rating of say 2000 that still stops the exact same amount of damage due to the armour cap. A giant should still damage you.

Basically get yourself some gloves that boost melee damage, then beat the game. I preferred exploits in past Elder Scrolls games, the ones in Skyrim are only about base player stats.
-
Or you can just convert your save to your computer, abuse the console commands, then convert it back to your Xbox. That's what I do. I'm personally not too fond of exploiting glitches
-
Level 285 and punching dragons right the -blam!- out on the console? It's funny though when you go to high with the restoration glitch and the game registers enchanted potions back at 1%. Game broken.

6 RepliesI call BS. Damage Resistance maxes out at about 583 armor rating. Any more than that is unnecessary. You should still be taking noticeable damage from Giants.

Welcome to the club. You're a bit late there. But I have a question, why is your AR only 8000? That's low compared to the hundreds of people, including myself, who have already done this.
-
By the gods I must try this
-
Actually, your armor rating is 567.
-
You understand there is a cap on that right? Your actual AR isn't even close to 8,000. It'll give you any set of numbers depending on how far you enchant it, but the true cap doesn't even hit 1,000.
