2DS - Plays 3DS games without the 3D effect. Means the parents who wouldn't buy their kids a 3DS (because they are worried the 3D will effect their vision in the future) can now buy the handheld device. Wii U price cut - They want to remain significantly cheaper then the PS4 and Xbox One this holiday season. I don't think Nintendo is in major trouble (yet..). Not when Sony spent 4 years in the red and is still working on digging itself out, and Microsoft has yet to make any profit off its failing tablets and search engine. I suggest reading some actual business articles on all 3 companies before saying which company is doing the worst.
