This idea sounds plebeian and overdone. It reminds me of the UNSC, which is bad. Try something more original.

Theres a reason for that. But the idea isn't fully developed, and not set in stone. But I suppose you've done better than I have, right?

Well, I once did try writing a book about a high school kid that got forced into being tested for survival between different versions of Earth I'm alternate universes by a seemingly humanoid arbitrary regime of high-tech soldiers and a ruthless and corporate-esque commander that had no regard for human life. He initially brainwashed the other students (he wrangled the whole high school and put them in the gym to spectate combat of the other students) into being dummies as combatants, and would literally tear apart the kids that didn't fight. It was going to be a very bloody book. I lost interest a few chapters in when the protagonist and his GF were sentenced to a desecrated world where the inhabitants were rotted corpses only kept alive by technology acting as prosthetics for their dead tissues.
