I think adding realistic guns in Destiny (like COD) would be a good idea.

An archaic weapon from the early 21st century? My pulse rifle scoffs at thee. Seriously though Destiny is supposed to be like 700 years in the future. A Famas would be so uninspired and out of place.

Define "realistic" for me do you mean they have to look and function like modern day guns or plausible for the future? Either way I think more variety is always a good in a massive game but it might be better to add them in a dlc so the game doesn't get stale

i think tht it is a sci fi game but i dont think tht theyve gone to far out with the guns it seems like the guns are just evolved like in the future but not crazy like the alien guns in halo -007

The only game with realistic weapons as far as I know is red orchestra 2...but adding those kind of game mechanics to destiny would make it unplayable for consolites or mediocre PC gamers

Honestly I'll be surprised if technology has advanced enough to where we can fly in space whenever we wish, but our weaponry hasn't evolved past using a tiny explosion to hurl a tiny metal object. I can understand in an art perspective the visual design of our guns will be similar to what we have now because that is what we are used to, but if the technology hasn't been improved enough to be using lasers or some kind of railgun technology I'll be very surprised. Hell, make up your own kind of weapon technology like the Mass Effect series, just do something other than typical bullets.

No there would not be guns that were made in modern days. Maybe the same mechanism improved on guns. The two types of guns that would maybe be in use would be m16 variants or ak variants improved on. My opinion is no to modern day weapons in a game set in the future by so much.

1 ReplyThat would make no sense at all. (Well, maybe a tiny bit, but no.) 800 years from now, probably every gun would be remade, remanufactured, and forgotten. But the idea is nice. Just this universe needs more exotic items.
