Personally, I really liked it. It was probably my favorite Halo game thus far. however, I respect other people's opinions, and would like to know why you didn't like it.

Honestly, my main gripe is sprint. It ruins the whole idea of sticking with your team when you and your buddy are constantly trying to keep up with each-other. Everyone just kind of scatters like senile cockroaches at the start of each game. Back in Halo 3, I always felt really close to my team because everyone was together and walked at a constant rate for the most part.

2 RepliesEdited by The Random: 8/24/2013 5:21:22 PMI was in the middle of typing a long and detailed response for why Halo 4 sucks, but I accidentally closed my web browser -_- So here's the super condensed version: 1.) The campaign was not memorable and has no replay-ability. It's not really fun and the story is not anywhere near the scale and level of epic-ness of the story in the original trilogy. 2.) The soundtrack wasn't Halo. It was good music, but it wasn't Halo music. 3.) 343i followed in Reach's footsteps and made Halo 4's multiplayer even more casual than Reach. There's no real reward for doing well, and has too many aspects from other games. *Cough* Call of Duty *Cough* 4.) Even though Reach may have a bad reputation here, you have to give it credit in that it had the most content out of any other Halo game. So did 343i add even more content to make it better? NOPE. Instead, they took away content for absolutely no reason. Way to go, 343i. 5.) Probably the worst part of the game has to be: Spartan Ops. What a failure of an attempt to replace the repetitive Firefight game mode. We got something a hell of a-lot worse that only had one thing going for it: the pretty cutscenes. EDIT: 6.) The unnecessary change of iconic vehicle and weapon sounds/looks (Great example: The Warthog) really made the game seem less like a Halo game.

12 RepliesHalo 5 mp predictions: 3 kills in a row= a crawler that gets to follow you around and barks when enemies are close 5 kills= A UNSC Flacon will provide overwatch from above 7 kills= transform into a hunter and melee enemies 10 kills= Pelican gunner 15= HAVOK nuke that will alter the landscape of the map 25= fire a Halo ring and win the match You can now buy attachments for your guns such as scopes, red dot sights, etc. Every gun is available on spawn when you create a class, rocket, shotgun, sniper, etc... Doing bad? It's ok since death streaks have been added. Spawn with an overshield for 10 seconds, or stick a plasma grenade to yourself right before you die to surprise unsuspecting enemies. You now play as a Spartan V on the Infinity II, which is even bigger than the first Infinity! Campaign also features breaching doors and slo mo sequences! Pre order now!

4 RepliesLet me simply say this. THE only GOOD things about halo 4 were: 1) Railgun 2) storm rifle (sort of...) 3) human/covenant models in cutscenes Literally EVERYTHING else was a disappointment. The campaign The new enemies The enemy AI Most of the new weapons Forge Theater Spops MP UI Custom games Everything was a downgrade from reach. FUUUUCCCCKKKKKK 343!

It tried to be mainstream and abandoned Halo's true arena gameplay in the process. If I wanted to play a game with classes, loadouts, perks, special abilities, etc. I would play Battlefeild, Killzone, or CoD. I played Halo for the simple arena gameplay it had, it was unique and its gameplay was THE reason I loved the multiplayer. But they completely changed the gameplay into a generic shooter which makes buying Halo pointless since I have 5 other games that have similar gameplay

Edited by Ad Hoc: 10/5/2013 3:34:44 AMWhen it comes down to it, it's because it lacks the feeling of wonder that the original trilogy had. The originals were the perfect mix of SciFi and Fantasy. I always felt like I was on the verge of discovering things that were fascinating and wondrous. Halo 4 on the other hand, doesn't have that at all. It tries, but it falls totally flat. I wish I could be more specific on how it differs with the originally trilogy, but it's really just a feeling. The music is definitely a part of it, but that's all I can pin down. As far as multi-player goes, it's just too serious. Until now, Halo multi-player always found a happy-medium between being serious and goofy(even Reach). Now it's just stone cold; it totally lacks personality.

Edited by jim the mokey: 10/14/2013 8:31:20 PMWe're to begin...firstly the campaign and it's plot wholes. This is set 4 years after halo 3, if you read the manual for 3 it states quite clearly there are only 200 millions humans left. Yet four years later there expanding and "conquering" the galaxy.....I started the campaign on legendary like I always do when a new halo comes out, I was already doubting this game but after the beautiful opening cinematic I was pumped for another awesome experience and then the game started and straight away it was no longer halo. From the helmet, the removal and addition of weapons, the look and feel of vehicles. I was disappointed. But I slugged through like any good halo fan. Desperately trying to get to the next amazing cutscene. I almost put the game down when you first come across humans. None, not of them react to you like they should. Seriously you have been gone for years and they don't act surprised at all of your sudden arrival. Now the multiplayer. I'm sorry I didn't realise I bought call of duty. There are so many things I disliked about halo 4 multiplayer. The custom classes do not belong in halo 4. I know they have recently introduced some standard game modes without custom classes. I still can't believe they give us the option to spawn with plasma grenades and plasma pistols. It makes vehicles so redundant. Ordnance drops are much to reminiscent of kill/score streaks. I loved both halo 3 and Reaches BTB game modes, hands down my favourite game mode of all time. I struggle to play it now, vehicles are so weak now that every person takes plasma grenades and every second person has a rocket launcher/fuel rod/incinerator or damage boost. SWAT used to be fun as well when everyone had one standard gun. With most SWAT game modes you get a choice of all the the precision guns. In one SWAT game mode you ever get those forerunner grenades! The didn't even get flood right. The general look of the spartan IV armour is pretty appalling. Im sorry I didn't realise I was playing some anime game. Well this is just my point of view. I'll be sticking with reach and halo 3. Sorry for the rant Luv gramps

1 ReplyHonestly, the number one thing I hated about Halo 4 was the community surrounding it. Once the hype died a couple months down the road all that was left was people b*tching. They hate this or they hate that. The casuals hating on the competitive. The competitive hating on the casuals. Halo 3 fanboys/classist hating on Reach/H4. Newcomers flaming Vets. The DMR circlejerk. The BR circlejerk. Precision crowd flaming the AR crowd. etc, etc, etc. What I hated most about Halo 4 was all these different camps, entrenched, wouldn't shut up about it. They had to incessantly voice their opinions over and over and over again. That's why I will never be part of the Halo community again. Thank god Bungie is making a new game where I can start over.

What is there to even say about this game anymore? It was an epic failure of monumental proportions that not even Reach could outshine. There was nothing memorable about the campaign, the story was bland and made no sense. The multiplayer is another generic Codfest where the idiot who fires first gets the kill and other CoD-like elements. Custom games was molested beyond recognition and there was nothing even remotely innovative about Forge. The game shipped as a beta or possibly the pre-alpha stage just so Microshit could beat Blops 2 in sales. It's a complete CoD clone. It rewards bad kids who were too stupid to get the power weapons, plus letting them start out with Plasma pistol + plasma grenades. I honestly don't know what they were thinking when they thought adding this was a good idea. And let's not forget the way they completely butchered CTF and numerous other game modes. This game is just so pathetically bad that it depresses me to even think about it. I could go on but it's just too depressing.

- Promethean enemies are awful and boring - Campaign is too short - Story is bad. The weird relationship between Cortana and Master Chief is awfully written and full of cheese. - No campaign theater - No firefight - Spartan Ops is even worse than the campaign. Palmer is the worst character in the entire game. - Too many weapons that are just reskinned versions of other weapons in the game. - Too many armor permutations - All of the armor looks terrible. The Spartan IVs look like skinny teenagers in costumes. - Armor Abilities still exist - Personal Ordnance Drops - Personal Loadouts are terrible and unbalanced. - No UNSC air vehicle - DMR, Sprint, Flinch - Vehicles are completely useless Basically I'm saying that nearly every aspect of the game is awful compared to past Halo games. This game was a huge disappointment...

It's bad.

For one, I think it's funny that the Knights can be destroyed by simple human (not the advanced ones that fought the Forerunners) weapons.

2 RepliesWe could probably write a comprehensive, 1000 page book on the subject: Why Halo 4 has basically destroyed the Halo series.
Volume 1: Introductions (Pocket Edition)
I liked Halo 4 in general, but they dun goofed up a lot of the core gameplay mechanics for no reason at all.

3 RepliesCHANGE EVERYTHING! INCLUDING THE SOUND OF THE WARTHOG. IT SOUNDS LIKE A LAWN MOWER.

1 ReplyThe picture sums it up.

Edited by Axdinosaurx: 8/23/2013 8:18:30 PMChange for the sake of change is bad. Removing basic game play features just to make them "perks", ordinance, bad weapon balance for 7 months. People who play the most have advantages over better skilled players a.e..(unlockable loadouts). Abysmal custom game options. The campaign was really short, I beat it in a few hours on legendary. Covenant as enemies with no explanation unless you read Karen traviss' books (even though infinity was part of them nothing ever gets mentioned). The entire campaign was spent pushing buttons or destroying 3 generators. Didact still bent on genocide with no explanation after 100,000 years in prison. Space magic. Spartan ops was boring and repetitive, the CGI was nice though. Oh yeah Palmer, just make her go away please. InB4 343's white Knights come in.
-
The story is just depressingly bleak, and portrays the humans as saints compared to the covenant, even though in many ways they're just as bad. They're instigating a war for no reason, and the only two people in the galaxy who seem to actually want tolerance and coexistence and peace are Hood and Arby, chief and Phillips to a less extent.
-
2 RepliesOne of my many reasons is because 3fail3 made it pretty much mandatory to read six goddamn books in order to fully understand the weak-ass campaign. 3fail3 even said as much in an interview where a question about the books and the Campaign was raised. Sure, Bungie's Halo had Lore books. Those books also helped established the Canon for the series. But they weren't required in order to fully understand what's happening in the Campaign.
-
3 RepliesIt's a boring, repetitive, stale, unoriginal, run-of-the-mill modern scifi shooter trying to be CoD. And Frankie in general, honestly the next game being a colossal failure will probably be the best thing for the series. Frankie would wither leave or stop having the largest ego ever.
-
2 RepliesMy biggest problem is that with every new update, they brag about "oooh yeah the game is now much faster paced". Halo was never about speed. It was just a nice, mellow game where you shoot people. But 343 wants a slice of the COD pie, and so now the kill times are ridiculously fast.
-
7 RepliesIt was boring and I didn't have that much fun playing it. Halo games from best to worst: Reach > Halo CE > Halo 2 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo 3 > Halo 4
-
4 RepliesCustom Games were gutted. Forge was intolerable. Matchmaking had a much more "rock-paper-scissors" dynamic. Flood was a failure. Campaign story was horrendous. Artistic design was terrible and crapped on Bungie's previous work. Spartan Ops disappointed me more than any other game or feature ever has. Many of the weapons are completely imbalanced.
-
4 RepliesBoring. Hated the story. They killed Cortana. they showed the Chief's face. No memorable characters (my opinion), didn't like the forerunner weapons, and didn't like the last fight with the Didact. Liked the multiplayer tho.
