Great idea. I'm all for more customization options.
Though I'd assume that, with this system, exotic weapons would be special. For example, the Thorn handcannon would have unique parts that other weapons can't share.

Thank you :) I was thinking the same thing about the Thorn. Perhaps there is a special category for dangerously sharp firearms. Or. What if there is a crafting process that mutates the parts to fit the Thorn!
