That doesn't seem to be giving me the "huge open world" impression.

Bungie never sad "huge open-world". Regardless, the 2 kilometer figure you are hearing about is an individual area. If you are at all caught up on Destiny info, you'll understand that the game was designed with everyone in mind. There will be linear missions in some spaces, social in another, free-roam in another and even in some cases, all three in one.
-
I think that even though a single area might only be 2km, that's not to say that there can't be multiple maps per planet, multiple planets and moons, and possibly even space, which will make for a much larger game. With all the emphasis they're putting into the seamless connectivity experience, I wouldn't be surprised if you hopped from one map to another without knowing it.
-
Yeah, but remember there are multiple planets and moons to visit.
-
Maybe their won't be as many loading screens as skyrim.
-
I was hoping there wouldn't be any.
-
I would hope so too. Especially on next gen/PC's. The number of loading screens in Bethesda games is TOO DAMN HIGH!
-
Yeah but the majority of Skyrim is made up of the huge open area in between cities and dungeons, etc.
-
I wish you wouldn't need a loading screen go into your houses and only load a city then you could go into any building in the city without loading screens. I know it's necessary on current tech but it still can be bothersome.

Cool. That's Skyrim. This is Destiny. We still don't have a clear and concrete picture of Destiny. So I'm personally reserving judgement.
