I've never really noticed how much people hate to pay $60 a ywar for a subscription.. Most of the time you can even get good deals on it. My live subscription was $40 for a year off of amazon.
So my main question is, does the subscription fee really botger you guys? If there was no fee we probably wouldn't be getting all these great features on each console..
*looks at xbox ones server lists* :)

Doesn't hurt my wallet, which is why I have been a gold member for 5 years in a row. Even when I was in college.

I'm fairly poor, so yes, it does hurt my wallet. When you go to college, everything hurts your wallet.

Edited by Phantom: 8/1/2013 6:35:13 AMwell I don't mind PS+ because before it becoming a requirement for multiplayer it gave its value. So many free games, up to 75% off discounts, exclusive stuff and the like. So with multiplayer being added in PS4 I don't see a problem as I love PS+. Now XBL I just didnt like and only now are they making it worthwhile. Such as before, paying for live meant paying just to access anything online with the console including netflix which is still in effect and really giving nothing back. Only now has XBL actually become a value subscription but still with only the free games when before it was completely just to use anything online with the damn box. And even then MS is requiring XBL to even play F2P titles. Also those server lists don't mean a damn if a pub/dev doesn't want to use them.

No for me, hell I don't even pay $60 for live, on Amazon I was able to get a year for $35.

22 RepliesEdited by darthrevan96: 8/1/2013 12:39:43 AMAt 10 bucks a month you can end up paying 120 dollars a month for the planned 10 years. Yeah. 600-1200 dollars. PS+ 500-600 dollars. That's a lot of money. Also XBL has ads ad XBO is "made for advertisements" whatever the -blam!- that means. Premium services should not have ads. Also, MP should not be a premium service. That goes for both sides. Xbox One: $1100-$1700 over 10 years PS4: $900-1000 over 10 years Nintendo Wii U; 300-350 and you are set, for life. Nintendo experiences will remain as they do forever.

Kinda. Not really. I have numerous accounts with 12M and some 3M subs. Yeah, I'll need to cut down and just maintain the ones with higher tenures.

1 ReplyYou'd be able to afford a year of xbox live by working at the dirt-cheapest local supermarket you can find for at most a day - the price really shouldn't matter to people. The only thing that should matter is the value they get out of it.
-
3 RepliesNo since its only Sixty Dollars a year. Its not like WoW where you have to pay $180 a year for the service.
-
It doesn't hurt my wallet since I won't pay for the scam that is XBL Gold. As for PSN+ I buy most of the games I want to play so there isn't much value in it for me.
-
Nope. Heck I pay more for Netflix and I know that I don't use that as much as I use LIVE.
-
I saw little value in the Xbox LIVE Gold service, and after about three years of paying for it, stopped. I played online maybe one month in a year's time that I had Gold. Given that my online experience was generally sub-par from lag and disconnects it was almost an insult to be paying for it as well. So it wasn't necessarily the cost that bothered me, but that I wasn't getting my money's worth out of it. I haven't paid for PSN+ because I again do not see much value in the service at this time that doesn't overlap with other services such as Amazon Prime. If I want movies, I'll go there. I also rarely play online multiplayer in the games that I own.

For people that say it does, are stupid. It's a investment. It is literally one day of work
-
Ya, currently can't afford live. I'm playing ps3 right now so its not to bad.
-
I don't like that we have ads and suck for paying so much, but it does not really bother me.
-
2 RepliesSurprisingly people have never complained about paying for LIVE
-
I've never had an issue paying for XBL. Even when I lost my job last year, I was able to find a deal cheap enough I didn't mind paying it.
-
It's not a problem for me.
-
No, people just like being over dramatic.
-
Nope that's why I get up and go to work every day..
-
I prefer to look at it as sixteen cents a day

LOLNO I'm a fairly successful graphics designer/photographer. I have money. The cost of a LIVE subscription isn't shit to me now, and won't be anything to worry about when the One launches either.
