Mix the highly rated RPG games the no life's from MMO games and the Highly popular FPS games and you get what Bungie is saying about Destiny. But which side is Bungie gravitating towards? Is Destiny leaning towards the action packed epic FPS or the slow storybook like RPG?

MMO FPS.

I hope it's an RPG so I can get my kitty cat ears ^_^

Your an asshole you know that right? People who play fps games can have no lives too. Just look at all the people who reach 10 Prestige in Call of Duty games before the hackers move in. And not all rpg fans have no lives. So stop being an asshole.
-
why not both?
-
2 RepliesFirst of all, just because someone plays an mmorpg or rpg doesn't make them have no life. Secondly, they are leaning too the mmo side because it's been 14 years people are getting a little sick of the same franchise shooters for all fps games right now.

Skyrim... someone?

There's no need to call the people who play MMO's, "no life's". You seem to have a false sense of superiority.

1 ReplyWhy does it need to be defined? It is what it is. It's Destiny.

4 RepliesDude..... Alright, I've seen enough man. PLEASE take some time to get caught up on your Destiny info and Bungie design philosophies. Watch some videos, read some interviews, read some Wikis. Soak it all in...... and stop posting topics that either (a) have already been discussed here daily (b) have already been debunked/clarified or (c) are misinformed, uninformed or not completely thought out. Otherwise, I'm going to have to mute your profile.

2 RepliesWhy are you so against RPGs? They give you way more playtime compared to most other games. They're my favorite kind.
-
It's Epic FPSness with epic RPGness with slow storybookness as well. Ness.

False sense of superiority was right on the money. Especially considering the reason highly popular FPS are highly popular is because of their lack of thought/skill and pick up and play mentality. Anybody can play them, whether they're 6 years old or 50. And anyone can excel, hence the pick up and play. You point, you shoot, you smile at the pretty points coming up. Then you do it again for the next 1000 hours. The words to describe each type of game easily shows which side you're clinging, and you've obviously played little of any MMO PVP. MMO PVP is much more action packed and skill driven, and considering how many hours are spent on most highly popular FPS I think no life could describe both. Anyway, diverging from your alternate reality I'm hoping Destiny will have more MMO concepts then FPS ones, I'm tired of the same generic arena style matches that you have to relive over and over in regular FPS games. That stale approach has been done and redone enough times for all of us I'm sure. I'm hoping for a lot of content, not just an 8 hour story and a few places to explore with some generic arena PVP and a few side missions or raids to keep us waiting for DLC. I want adventure, challenges, I want to look forward to something other then my uber cool kill/death ratio. I want lots of customization, places, enemies, situations, puzzles, missions, gear, loot and I can hope for a real MMO PVP experience that can't be mastered in minutes ala halo and COD. I've played lots of FPS and lots of MMO. COD, Halo, even Battlefield jumped on the pick up and play train, Destiny doesn't need to be on it too.

Cat ears!!!!

I cant decide wether you are being mad at destiny or making fun of types of gamers
-
All three please with a side of free roam
-
SWFPS with MMORPG elements.
-
to me, it seems structured like an MMO, with FPSing as it's main form of combat
-
FPS!!!!!
-
a multiplayer FPS with RPG elements
-
Shared world fps

1 ReplyYou should probably start watching some vids and interviews on the subject, like US suggests, but for now, it's going to be an FPS, period. It will take elements of MMO to form its social structure, and use RPG elements such as upgrades and multiple tier items to enhance gameplay in a near-open world environment.

7 Repliesthey stated that above all it is a FPS with an MMO twist
