We literally have constant jokes about every religious figure on the media everywhere. Jesus watching porn, krishna doing crack and all sorts of jokes.
But when it comes muhammed, he's off limits because of fear from terrorists? Shouldn't we be cracking down on the people who are willing to kill because they feel insulted rather than let them instill fear and ultimately censor free speech?

I wonder the same thing. It's okay to mock Christianity, but not sacred Islam.
-
The Prophet didn't want his picture, and in turn himself, to be worshiped; nor any other prophet worshiped. They can have pictures of him in purely a historical context, but nothing that implies divinity.
-
No not terrorists.

Edited by DB5: 4/19/2014 12:50:05 AMChristians are much more tolerant (these days) of parodies. To observant Muslims it is still blasphemy to parody or even just make a picture of the prophet Edit: old thread..... Who dug this up?!
-
This thread is too tempting to be still up.
-
Its kinda hard not to question a religious text which claims their prophet (Muhammed) ascended into heaven on a unicorn (not joking, look it up [seriously I am not bullshitting you]).

Edited by explodingpiglets: 4/19/2014 12:52:15 AMI find it funny how Muslims get all violent and threaten to blow people up when a comic depicts Mohammed with a bomb shaped turban. Edit: inb4dazarobbo

Don't ban me

Why isn't this thread banned already?
-
because infidels should not be allowed to see our prophet

1 ReplySouth Park showed a picture of Muhammad. Look it up.

Muslims =\= terrorist Muslims =\= Arabs I know a white Muslim (who's genuinely one of the nicest people I know) and an Arab who's a better Christian than I'm sure any of you are. If the bible said not to depict Jesus, nobody would. It's just part of their beliefs not to depict him because his teachings are meant to be focused upon, not the man himself.

5 RepliesEdited by EshraytheGrey: 7/27/2013 8:39:25 PMBecause when Islam was founded, Muhammad feared his image would be worshipped and his teachings ignored. Judaism does the same thing with their god for possibly same reason even though the Jewish, christian and muslim gods are all one guy. NOW however, it's just because of butthurt.
-
1 Replybecause us Americans are afraid of Islams because they have a history of blowing things out of proportion

The only reason I can think of... They are afraid of what the real image of M might be. Anything less than the Devil himself would basically be a false image. You know why Muslims wear those rags on their heads? To hide their horns.
-
For fear of retaliation by those who respect their religion to the highest degree they think possible: extremism. Most Muslims do not act out in violence, of course, but I still believe people shouldn't even be joking about a religion or its exalted figures. Just for the sake of keeping violence down.

It's because Obama.

Because religion of peace.

If the image of Muhammed can't be shown, how do we know this isn't Muhammed?
-
Because butthurt is haram. If you can't be butthurt, you have to be overly aggressive to compensate. Didn't you read my epic basketball story of Muhammad versus Jesus?

Why can't people get along?

9 RepliesBecause we Muslims actually respect and honor the Prophets and we don't want the stupid media making a mockery out of them. Not hard to understand.
