Do you think we will be able to explore nearly every location of a planet or are the pinpoint locations to stay in. Like can I just walk out the city and go for miles? If anyone has any idea or thoughts about it please share them with me, I'd love to explore everywhere!

I like to think that after a year of playing, you haven't seen it all.

2 RepliesThey stated that everything you could see when that space plane flew to the Russian wall, you could explore. That tells me we can expect quite some exploring. I just can't wait to explore where Bungies studio is, hope to god that there'll be tons of easter eggs. What do you want to explore most? Be brave

I herd you are suppose to visit every planet in the solar system is that true???

6 RepliesThe planets are going to be this big. O \_______I_______/ ! / \

I swear if they make it actual size my brain would explode rainbow colored bacon of immortality

I remember hearing each location you're able to visit (or maybe it was each planet assuming you can board enemy ships or something) is roughly 2/3 the size of reach's campaign. I'm not sure how accurate that is, and I can't remember where I heard it so I don't have a source to share either. Sorry I don't have a source

Sorry guys but at the beginning atleast, they have disclosed that there will be many locations through the solar system buuut the location sizes are from scale of just 4 acres, to their max size(earth having a POSSIBLE exception) 4 kilometers, but with the fact there are MANY locations, this thing will still be massive. Still how hilarious would it be if the moon was actual size XD

2 RepliesShipwrecks are a exploration option in space

Maybe when destiny comes out on cerebro64 ;)

2 Replies10x bigger than skyrim depending on planet.
-
I am very curious about all this but Space flight is what I'm most interested in, the ability to fly in outer space, dog fight, explore and possibly crew bigger ships...
-
1 ReplyWhat I was thinking too! But if they just gave us 92 discs like final fantasy 13.
-
3 RepliesProbably not every inch of a planet but there will be huge zones. Think like borderlands but on a scale of lets say ten. The engine Bungie is using is said to be able to render up to 3km x 3km areas. For a game, thats HUGE
-
You will probably be able to change location according to it level like at level 15 u can go to the moon and 20 mars and so on so u will spend a great deal on earth at first which is cool.
-
According to bungie almost everywhere shown in the clip and trailers is explore able land.. The made destiny so u are able to want to keep going back to places because they made a token system that each person gets their own tokens.. So if u are really far in the campaign an ur friend is new to the game. U R able to go back an get the amount of loot that ur rank would get from the enemy... They have a huge world that is explorable.. In one of the videos they even said "we are able to jump off this hill and go exploring but we are here to show u some of the levels "

4 RepliesExploring every location on a planet is literally impossible. Like no game could actually do that in the immediate foreseeable future. More than likely, planets will be separated into large explorable zones.
-
Locations to stay in - not pin point areas, large areas that you won't ever get bored in. You could literally spend your WHOLE time on one planet, in one location on that planet for the rest of your time playing Destiny. And not get bored, pretty impressive (well that's basically what Bungie said, lets hope its true)
-
2 RepliesThis is one of my biggest concerns about Destiny. I'm really hoping that visiting other planets isn't like Mass Effect 3, and that you can only go down a linear path once you get to that planet. But I have hope that bungie will deliver some good open world gameplay.
-
I read somewhere that each planet will be 2/3 the size of Halo:Reach. I kind've doubt it but part of me wants it to be true.
-
If you've ever played star ocean TLH it could very well be like that.
-
1 Replyhopefully there will be a feature on the map or something that will let us now what areas and how much of the planet we explored. I would hate to go in circles
-
In my knowledge i think you will be able to explore everything and all open areas of all the planets.
-
I believe you will be able to go everywhere and anywhere.
-
1 ReplyThere's 4 Destiny games so I doubt the first will have everything, let alone major cities, monuments, mountains etc.

5 RepliesEverything you can see is playable area. if you watch this version of the game play reveal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTfhrONAp-c In the beginning he talks about how everything you see is playable area. He specifically says you could walk to everything you can see. As somebody here says already, I am not sure what there will be to do there, as in what kinds of enemies will be out there and so on. He mentions that there will likely be specific missions they will put out there in the future. But either way you can go there. So I would assume there would be random enemies of some sort. I can't see them letting us go there and leaving it barren.
