Map Editor in Destiny?
I know what you are all thinking as soon as you read the title. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Halo's forge was the first thing that popped up in your mind. Anyways, along with the subject. There has not been an article or confirmation of a map editor appearing in Destiny. And I'm getting a bit scared because what Bungie did with forge in Halo was seriously outstanding! And we can't just see a precious skill of theirs just vanish. There NEEDS to be a map editor in Destiny. Another reason why I'm hoping to see a map editor in Destiny is to download the community's amazing maps and to share them on YouTube or other social media sites. Post a comment down below expressing your opinion and ideas on a map editor in Destiny. If you ask me, I would definitely be satisfied with ANY type of map editor :)

I know this is a old post but I’m really disappointed they haven’t added it to either of the games, I guess the more fun you have playing free content takes away from payed dlc which is a not in their best interest, its a shame that money gets in the way of destiny being a truly amazing game, I hope with D3 it happens but I doubt it, I’d love to be able to make my own levels and download others creations.

1 ReplyHere you go! It's what Bungie is using to build the game, it basically lets artists who dislike 3D modeling to express themselves without needing to spend dozens of hours getting to know the software. (We still don't know if us fans will get it though)

1 ReplyWith Destiny being a shared world shooter with a largely open world I don't see room for a map editor in the game unless there are private arenas for custom matches. Since it's an open world a map editor could be used to bypass enemies in order to just get to bosses and farm loot. I don't want to see the game exploited like that.

6 Repliesi dont think we'll see a map editor as such as i have no clue if there will even be maps, i dont think bungie will waste their knowledge on the subject though, if we dont see a map editor in the final game, i'm sure we'll see examples of player customisation that we are all happy with. i'm hoping for my own part of the city where i can make my own house using a forge style map editor.

It seems very unlikely. I hope they are just keeping a few, things secret including some sort of forge mode, but I bet it won't happen. At least there's hope for custom games, that'll do I suppose.

I sure hope so. In my opinion, forge was Bungie's greatest addition to Halo.

5 RepliesI want to see a level editor put in, but I have a feeling that a lot of really awesome features aren't going to make it in this time. We'll probably be waiting until destiny 2 to see map editor/space flight/(player housing?)/other stuff. Right now all we've seen is go here, shoot things, receive loot. Don't expect any more and you won't be disappointed.

Maybe they will give us a toned down version of Grognok? If this map editor does happen.

The Forge, Theater, and other custom parts of Halo, were part of the Community, I think they will keep it.

All depends on how they go about with their pvp matchmaking. If they do a separate arena thing then yes. If not than it wont work.
