I know many of us may be playing alone in Destiny and won't get to have a fire-team to face daring feats. Would you like to see an option to add NPCs to your fire-team so you aren't going in alone? Maybe something similar to Mass Effect or Skyrim.
Ad astra.
Edit: Who keeps bumping my threads from July? This one is from July 2013, read the date before posting. Oh well, it's back so comment as you will.

This would be cool to implement, I probably wouldn't use it but I know some people would.
-
I would rather try and accomplish the goals in the game alone than deal with silly AI. I have never experienced a good AI system... I think if they made this available then it would defeat the purpose of having it online with real people to roll with. -cheers

We currently have six members and are openly recruiting for the beta of Destiny. i am also opening a youtube channel to record/stream me playing with the guild. My guild id called Gods of Conquest and we are welcome to have anyone of any playing style. Strength comes in numbers, and when we find a rare loot item, our group will make it public to all members in forums

I don't have many friends at all, but I would rather just have random players dropping into my fireteam than use AIs AIs are pain and draw your attention away from the game
-
2 RepliesThat would be cool, say if your friends can not play at that moment in time you can temporarily replace them. But it would only work if the AI is good and they do not get in the way.
-
People, this is a very old thread. I made it in May or something and my last edit was in July.

3 RepliesWe've seen droids patrolling the last City, in my mind these would be our standard rank and file "Marines" of the Destiny universe. But for the most part, I think Bungie wants to try to substitute real living players in for the sometimes questionable allied AI that has been present in Halo to create a better experience.
-
Open world environment + AI does not sound like a good idea.
-
9/10 ai allies get you killed...or even kill you themselves...going through halo 3 on legendary and I down the second scarab and jump out before it explodes as I'm on the ground running before the check point hits I get ran over by odsts in a warthog...screw ai allies
-
Sure, if I'm playing solo, I wouldn't mind filling in my fireteam with some AI buddies (be they Guardians or generic soldiers). They would have to be significantly improved over Halo's friendly AI though.
-
As long as they're not as dumb as the AI-controlled allies in Halo 3.

nar the story needs to be just us as players that make the story.. i dont even think thats right to have ai help you when ever you realy wish. we already have the ghost.. and besides if you could just do that. then that kills off bungie's statment it's a very social game and you need fireteams/ more people to do some things.. yeah most things for super skilled solo peeps can be done .. even things that alot say you need teams. i'v done solo stuff my self without teams when almost everyone says ya need one , and then they dont belive you lol.. and t be honest we have friends we have random people crossing to help.. there will be a rare need for fireteams in destiny.. just takes a long time sometimes.. ( maybe there is time missions to finish the enemy .. )

1 ReplyDestiny may not be an MMO but the same rule applies: You're going to encounter other players whether you like it or not. Depending on the community, player experiences will vary wildly. It would be a very good idea to gather friends for a fireteam because bungie is designing destiny to be very social and it is highly unlikely that there will be A.I. replacements for players.
-
That would be really cool. add this bungie!
-
Only if they are as fun as Cicero
-
Not if the get in my way as much as Lydia did.
-
Lone Wolf beats A.I.
-
Skyrim companions sucked they always got in the way or died. I prefer line wolfing it or playing with a group of buddies, AI partners suck!
-
2 Replieswhy would you want an AI over a person
-
Please no. In Halo, the marines were terrible at just about everything and I felt obligated to keep them alive.
-
2 RepliesPretty sure that people that are going alone you don't want to play with others...
-
Personally no. I can not stand NPC teammates. Destiny I feel is made to be played with others and if you chose not to then oh well get some friends so you can get through harder sections.
-
9 RepliesI don't see that happening, afterall it is mostly based off the mmo format. AI companions almost never happen in mmos.
