Why do so many people defend Halo Wars as a good game?

Halo Wars is terrible, expecially when compared to a real RTS. Now being on consoles always meant that the game was going to be limited, but come on. It has a population cap of what, 25 units? Even C&C3 has more than that on Xbox. Look at this picture and compare it to this image I just took in a game of C&C3 (I captured an AI Hard Scrin base at the start... Quite proud about that). Base building has always been an important part of RTS games, and Halo Wars' system was obviously designed to cater towards 10 year olds. Map control? Hah! No such thing in Halo Wars. You get one of several predetermined places to build your bases and that's it! The population cap is so low you can't even afford to lock down areas and attack at the same time! Please, enlighten me. Because all I see are people who defend it for no reason at all.
