If they have the space, that is
If you already own a copy, you ought to download it for free anyway. Once you have it, you can delete it right away if you so choose. So any amount of time later, if your physical disc breaks, you can always re-download a digital copy of Halo 3 free of charge. If you say "I already own Halo 3, so I don't need a digital version" don't come crying to anyone when your disc ceases to work for whatever reason.
There WILL be people who this happens to, even if that's only a handful of people. Just letting you guys know the obvious.
Anyway, do you think there should be some kind of celebratory game night for this momentous occasion? I mean, it seems like I pretty damn good excuse to play some online to me.

Only a fool would not already own Halo 3.
-
I have like 7 Halo 3s Im not gonna download it
-
Hmmm...no, I don't think I will.
-
1 ReplyNo. I have Halo 3, and if I wanted to play MP I have my ODST disc. Besides Halo 3 MP sucks. ODST Firefight>EVERYTHING ELSE HALO MP RELATED
-
1 ReplyThat's what I do. I 'bought' Fable III even though I already own it. I mean, why not?
-
I have game discs from the 90s that barely have a scratch on them. I think I'll be fine. Besides, last time I played Halo 3 was over two years ago.
-
I have two Halo 3's. I think I'll be fine.
-
This will be third copy of Halo 3/free
-
I have it installed to my HDD and have 3 copies.
-
But it doesn't come with the maps and I have limited HDD space. It's not necessary when I have the disk and ODST for the maps.
-
1 ReplyI already have 3 copies. beat that!
-
I have 3 copies.
-
8 RepliesNah I don't like that game. Plus 343i touched it they probably messed with that game too. Nah I had my fun years ago. No thanks.
-
6 Repliesjust for campaign maybe since my disc is scratched but that does not make me a fool.
-
I will for sure, even though I probably won't play it much. I downloaded Fable 3 even though I already played it and probably won't play it again. I'll also download AC2 when it becomes free even though I have it on PC.
-
7 RepliesYou still need the DLC to play 98% of the game anyway so it's not "free". Well this applies to the people who never played H3 or got all the content for the game.
-
Well a ton of people will be playing it now that the game will be free. Bungie day will likely be a big day
-
If you just start the download and cancel it, it's in your history and you have it forever. Hopefully there will be more people playing online, I got on last night and tried to enjoy it as I once did, but the population was horrible.
-
3 RepliesI have a feeling that the majority will rather pick Assassin's creed 2.
-
All ready have two copies of the multiplayer.
-
Or we could download the game and sell it to people who dont have gold

1 ReplyEdited by 3k3: 6/27/2013 3:55:15 PM
if they have the space, that is
I came into this thread to give a witty response and you shot me down before I had a chance. Anyways, I agree, get it for free now and download it later if needed
-
if your physical disc breaks, you can always re-download a digital copy of Halo 3 free of charge.
I don't play it anymore anyway. If it breaks nothing of value would be lost to me.
-
Sorry, but some people only have 1 14GB hard drive, which they got when they first obtained their Xbox 360.
-
1 ReplyI'm going to tie the license to my account but I won't be downloading it
-
3 RepliesI only have 10gb left, I'd rather save it for games that I actually want to play.
