Remember when video game montages were actually good?
And people were not such tryhards trying to get a billion views on Youtube, and they just made videos for fun? They should bring back Halo 2, no graphics upgrades or anything, and just keep the servers online forever, and scrap Halo 5 and whatever other shit they have planned.

It was the difficulty in accessibility. Years ago before YouTube became a big deal, the only people who could post decent quality gameplay videos online (i.e., not somebody recording the video screen with a cheap cam-corder) were the people who were really driven by passion to do that stuff. Now any teenager with money to blow on a Dazzle can spam YouTube with their hundreds of videos being a tryhard on MW3, so the quality stuff doesn't stand out like it used to. Basically, the montage culture got oversaturated with users and content. And now a lot of people, like me, just ignore it because it all looks the same and it's not worth sifting through a thousand tons of garbage to find one tiny gem.

It used to be an original concept, that's why. I mostly like to watch funtages anyway, Like this one. Also get this game, It is awesome.

There are still a lot of unedited montages just showcasing clips and funtages. Are you subscribed to FBwalshyftw? You don't have to watch the montages that purposely edit it to look fancy. In some cases it works though-- remember how much prace Halo 3's Legacy received?

Montages become so much more impressive if both players have equal skill levels. Montages that I see nowadays have kills on bad players and split screeners.
