Even Rotten Tomatoes' Senior Editor Shocked at Man of Steel's Score

I heard people were angry that Superman killed somebody? Apparently he never kills (except for like 2 or 3 times in his 50-something year history). I thought the movie was pretty good, but like I said I'm not a hardcore Superman fan so I wasn't upset that they apparently didn't follow the lore. EDIT: I actually liked the dark grittiness of the movie. Thought it was pretty cool since it's based off a generally light hearted comic book series. I hope Christopher Nolan does more DC movies. I mean we all know he's going to do a bunch of superhero movies and then come out with a Justice League movie.

4 RepliesOne of the phrases I keep reading in the reviews is that it is [quote]humourless.[/quote] Well no fuc-king shi-t Sherlock! It's Chris Nolan you muppets what did you expect? They also lament that it is too long, has too much backstory, flashbacks and really long action sequences. I am inclined to agree with them on that front. Man of Steel feels like the entire Dark Knight Trilogy in one film. Origins, plot twists, explosions but with a possible sequel as well. Do you wanna know the weirdest thing about it though?[spoiler]I haven't even seen it yet :-/[/spoiler]

I don't get it. : / I thought it was an easy 4.5 out of 5 stars, no problem. The only issues I had with it were the action got a bit hard to follow near the end, and a few blatant inserts for Ihop, Sears, and Windows phones, that's it. This was the Superman movie I've been waiting for my whole life. It tells the backstory in a very unique way as well, and avoids a lot of old-timey crap that never made sense in the comics. It also has a very veeerrrry subtle reference to his old tagline "Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a--well, pay close attention to a part of the movie in Kansas and you'll chuckle a bit.

8 RepliesI just don't understand critics. The films they claim to love are usually very uninteresting to me and the films that are enjoyed by many are hated by them. It seems as if they're contrarians. I didn't even see a lot of valid reasons as to why Man of Steel was bad.
