Anyone else think pokemon has changed to much? The whole "friendship makes us win" is getting old
Iti use to enjoy pokemon but ever since people started saying its a game about abusing animals and making them fight for you, its changed.
Now all i see in these gsmes are "pokemon are friends", "you won't win without friendship", "pokemon are not tools they are family".

Made it to Pokemon White, finished it, sold it instantly. The only Pokemon games I play are Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Soul Silver.

I played Pokémon all the way up to White/Black. I nearly finished it but then I realized how much I don't really care about it anymore. I've even missed out on 10 or more movies and I'm not willing to buy a 3DS for essentially the same experience that I've already had several times over. Oh and more on topic, the anime's always been about friendship with pokémon. It was just harder to get that across in the games without literally saying that they're friends.

Or do I have my family get into dog fights and have forced fights with random people. When you get down to it Pokemon are tools. What do we use to defeat other trainers? Pokemon. What do we use to get gym badges? Pokemon. What do we use to stop Team Rocket? Pokemon. What do we use to win that Pokemon super bow like thing? Pokemon. Hell in the original game Lt. Surge said he fought in some war which an electric-type Pokémon saved his life. In one of the newer movies you have these kings or whatever that used Pokemon for battles. Both of those things implies Pokemon are tools for killing just like guns. Really Pokemon are as much of family as what a gun is. Sure they can be a pet, friend or family, but that doesn't change that every Pokemon is cable of killing. You have Pokemon that kidnaps children or ones like Gengar that stalks people at night, pretends to be their shadow and then silently kills them.
