You forgot to mention that the PS4 will not be able to play beyond 1080p in video games whereas Xbox One uses 4K in games as well

yeah. I don't know what that is but yeah Is skype free?

Thats incorrect, you are implying that its impossible for a ps4 game to run at 4k, which is just plain ignorance. There is no technical reason why a game can't run at 4k, its just not going to be targeted by a AAA game because A: nobody has 4k tv's and B: devs wont sacrifice that much IQ just to support a higher resolution.

Edited by Mitochondrion: 6/16/2013 4:38:21 PMA. Correct, so you're right; no they aren't going to be making 4K games, that's true. 4K and 8K TVs cost tens of thousands of US dollars. I think the cheapest one was £2500 B. Again correct, another reason why they won't make 4K games. It's not impossible for PS4 to run 4K games but it is capped at 1080p. Probably for technical reasons. Xbox One isn't, but who cares when they will never make a 4K game ever?

Edited by WarlockTheWise: 6/16/2013 5:19:58 PM"but it is capped at 1080p" provide me a source saying that. "when they will never make a 4K game ever?" a game with relatively non demanding graphics ie indy games would be prefectly able to run at 4k.
-
Who would care if nobody has 4K TVs anyway? It's only capped at 1080p for video games not for other forms of media whereas the Xbox One is not. Source? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PS4
Speaking at a roundtable interview session in New York this morning, Sony's Senior VP Worldwide Studios Europe Michael Denny confirmed that 4K gaming is possible with the PS4. “We're not looking at 4K gaming initially, we are looking at 4K video and stills images. [4K gaming] is something we will look at in future".
Oh where's the link for that? Anyway It's good that they're changing their minds on the cap. I think it's probably just for disc content that it cannot render beyond 1080p but not for downloads...
-
Could you point to this as a confirmed fact? I'm not interested in speculation.
-
It's not speculation it's a fact. It'ds a basic knowledge. Gameplay is capped at 180p okay? It can play movies and videos at 4K, this is common knowledge how do you not know this?
-
Could you point to your source please? I'm not interested in speculation.

Sauce. Wikipedia son. I literally dived onto there as soon as I finished watching the Xbox One Reveal on Xbox Live Gold.
Could you point to your source please? I'm not interested in speculation.
Perhaps you don't understand; I'm asking you to link to your source.

Did you look up the source notes for your wikipedia page? I guess not. Otherwise you'd know that you're talking about games not being made for either console in 4k at the moment, as opposed to not being capable of doing so. Also, Wikipedia is not a confirmed source; however the sources for Wikipedia may be so.
-
I know that games aren't being made in 4K at the moment but PS4 never will. And It doesn't make any difference anyway because a 4K television costs £2500 and nobody has that kind of cash.
-
So, your point is about PS4 never making 4k games is based on your own speculation / opinion, while you're saying your main point about 4k games is irrelevant? After all this , if you have anything factual to correct in my thread - I'm all ears; but please base it on confirmed facts rather than your speculation. Cheers.
-
No, they already said that they won't be supporting 4K games. This is a fact.
-
Could you point to an official release of this, as well as an official release that Microsoft will support 4k games? Just a hint: reading between the lines and extrapolating a response in an interview does not count as an official position.
-
It says it on Wikipedia It will support 4K media just not games Xbox One will support 4K games, but companies aren't really investing in it, and Microsoft are a bit blase about it. Because no one has a 4K TV because they're too expensive.

Please read all of this response before posting again.
Could you point to an official release of this, as well as an official release that Microsoft will support 4k games? You could just go to Wikipedia and type in PS4 and it will tell you in the specs that the games are capped at 1080p and then look up Xbox One and see it's not capped for games there... My internet is really slow so I don't want to leave this website because my computer will probably crash again when I try to reenter it...
